Too little too late. What the consumer wanted should have been concern number one, not what Microsoft wanted. There shouldn't have to be a consumer outcry in order for them to change their mind so suddenly. Especially since these are policies that they said had to be in place for everything to function properly. So it's just as simple as, "Yeah we're not doing that anymore?" If it's that simple to remove from the system, what's to stop Microsoft from suddenly implementing it later on? Plus the Kinect is still an issue. Damage done, trust lost, moving on.
@Moef01 I'm fine paying for PSN now, after having PS+ for 3 months I've already gotten more out of it than the years that I've had XBL. And they're going to be offering more content, meanwhile Xbox is still promising the same "exclusive" features they've been promising for the last couple years.
Plus with Gaikai, Sony wants to make it so all the games you've already purchased via PSN will be available to stream through the cloud. Backwards compatibility with past architecture would lead to higher overhead and a bigger pricetag.
As for not including the "Eye." I'm fine with that. I don't need one and chances are neither will any of my games.
@rat5112 Agreed. Anyone naive enough to think either side isn't out to make a boatload of money should slap themselves. I do appreciate Sony thowing us a bone though.
Not excited about paying for playing on PSN. I thought I was going to be leaving that behind with the 360. But it is $10 cheaper, and I get all the perks of a PS Plus sub. So I'm good I guess.
