Yeah it's a great card! I've played many of the games you listed and you can max out most of them on this card.

Truly an e8400 is all you would need, I came across one for 100 bucks,

Upgrading to an E8400 from a E6600 clocked at 3.7 GHz wouldn't really be an noticeable upgrade.
what resolution are your monitors running at? if it 2 at 1680 x 1050 or higher 512mb isn't really enough when a game is running. imprezawrx500One is running at 1680 x 1050 (primary), the other is 1280 x 1024 (secondary).
I managed to overclock my E6600 to 3.7 GHz and now the lag is mysteriously gone! But i'm still considering that quad core, so tempting! Thanks for the help guys!
Ok I used everest and logged the local memory usage for my 4870, with everything running, I had an average of 300 MB free.
p.s. - crossire does indeed support multi monitor in crossfire but with sli you might have problems (google searched).
Yeah I was thinking of getting another 4870 for crossfire but will dual monitors still work?
To furthur investigate this, I searched google for a way to see how much video memory is being used and found GPUZ. I am going to download and install and confirm if it really is the 4870.
I can also try overclocking my 4870, haven't tried that yet :) But why wouldn't dual monitors work with crossfire?
My E6600 clocked at 3.6 GHz has been working great for my needs the past years. Recently I have aquired a second monitor and love to use dual monitors. I like to run my tv tuner software on my secondary monitor and web browse on my primary monitor. Everything runs fine until I try to play games. I notice a little bit of frame loss from my games when watching TV on the second monitor at the same time. Do you think it's too much for my current processor? Would a quad core fit my multimedia needs in this situation? The rest of my PC specs are in my signature. Thanks!
