My post was kinda vague, I'm sorry lol I'm looking to spend approximately$500, it can't go over 200 watts of power consumption, but can play 1080p and even 4k video, I also want to have the option to be able to do some kind of gaming on it; preferably emulation(PS2 hopefully).

Overall, I need Processor and Video Card suggestions that fit the aforementioned criteria. Everything else I feel I can hunt down myself.

Sup ya'll,

I'm yearning to get started as a PC gamer, but I decided that for my first build I would make a HTPC, to sort give something back to my family after all these years lol.

I want this to be a cheap build obviously, with really low energy consumption since we pay for electricity and NSTAR can really count those kilowatts.

But of course, it has to be good enough to stream movies in 1080p and maybe even play COD4 at medium or even high settings.

I'm open to your suggestions, please let me know what you think are the best parts for this build.

Ah my bad. I recommend $800, 500 isn't a good system only enough to beat laptops twice the price.

$100 win7 OS

$20 dvd drive

$50-100 case

$40 ram ddr3

$100 fx4100

$100 motherboard

$50-100 500w-800w psu

$100 hdd

hd7770 $130

rough estimate, newegg.com is the best place, tigerdirect & amazon are okay too but not as good.

Hey thanks man, this is really helpful, would you know if I would need an SSD for future games?

Also, I found that Amazon is a good a place as any. Will the Intel Core i7-3770 hold up to today's standards? And possibly further down the line?

Well I'm looking to spend over $500 anyways, I doubt $500 build (if there is such a thing.) would allow me to play upcoming games like Assasin's Creed in high settings. So I'm looking for a performance build but as economical as possible... n*ggas is broke. I'm sorry If I came off as kinda snarky.

I guess you can say that I have seen the light, but what I haven't seen is the CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, OS, power supply, hard drive, tower case and optical drives that all alledgedly amount to $500 . So can you fellas start pointing me the in the right direction?

When will hardcore RE fans face facts. video games is now about reaching out to the casuals.PSP107

We realize this, we just don't accept it, Capcom would sure see reason when no one purchases this TPS.

After playing the demo myself, I say it's best to just rent this piece of sh*t, just to see what happens next in the RE universe.

I don't think people see how uninterested the casuals are.
