It is not in human nature to do bad or good, it is the change in human behavior which allows such things to happen. As time has gone on, so has our human behavior changed.

Christianity came, and many lives were lost because of religious oppression and warfare. Heck...

Illiad > Bible, why? Because it's a more exciting piece of fiction. Mind you, both have some historical accuracies, duh. Both also are full of fantasy tales.

[QUOTE="-Dark-Rain-"]

Where did most morality come out of? Religion. Most of the moral things. The us is 93 % cCristian and Europe is 89 %

Enosh88

and religion says it's o.k. to have slaves.

so why don't we have slaves anymore? It's moraly o.k. by your standarts

Hmm my friend U.S. has one of the highest rape/murder/theft stats in the world, and its majorly Christian. Europe has a higher population of atheists and doesn't score that high with the U.S. in the previous regards...people like you make humanity look like ****. I'd say more but i'd get banned

Yes.

If we can torture terrorists, what's wrong about them torturing a U.S. prisoner? Torturing is wrong, no excuses.

That sounds dramatic, but do you think more people will start declaring Atheism as their beliefs? Atheism is growing quickly in Europe, and I would think that it will grow in the US as well soon.

So do you think that there is an Atheism fad in the US, or will we follow Europe as well? What do you guys (and gals?) think?

helium_flash

Atheism is rising in Europe. Europe also has better education stats than the U.S. (U.S. is a very Christian nation, and coincidentally falls behind many countries in education). Europe also has a better lifestyle/etc imo, less gap between the poor and rich.

When the U.S. follows suit, I'm sure the religious numbers will drop as well. I'm an agnostic atheist, and without bias it is no doubt that atheism will rise in the West as we become more advanced and do not need fairy tales to comfort us.

Wow what a slap in Americans faces by yourselves. Voting in a Muslim origin family into the presidency while at war with Muslims. Also as much as the media and the government have down played it, The so called terrorist have completely succeeded in destroying the American and world economy by taking the down the World Trade Center which is the American hard working symbol. I am a Nader fan but I would put McCain/Palin before Obama/Biden(Osama Bin Laden) LOL WOW, What a coinicidence that the names are like that. Change is definately coming and not in a good way.

balindos

muslims are no different than christians, it's only a different opinion of religion thats it, unless you think every muslim is a terrorist...stupid white hick from texas

So the U.S. can built the anti missile base near Russia, but why can't Russia build one besides the U.S.? Double standards, Russia has the right to disagree.

Christmas is more of an American Tradition than it is a Religious Holiday IMOMasterKingMP

Yes it's a tradition. It's been a tradition since ancient days and has nothing to do with christianity (which borrowed the holiuday from a traditional PAGAN holiday)
