if you want a good pc build for 1000-1500$ Il build it on newegg.com selecting part with that you can get
CPU Core i7 920 2.6Ghz
Motherboard X58 I recommend the Gigabyte UD5 or the *NEWS* UD7 (UD7 as Better OC headroom & SATA III & 2 USB 3.0 port)
GPU ATI HD5870 or HD5970 XFX as Best Warranty
Ram 3x2GB DDR3 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 or better cas
PSU 650-750W Psu Would be far enough
Case HAF 932 is the best airflow case & as lot of space (it is Require to have full tower if you envisage the HD5970)
HDD 1TB Samsung spinpoint F3 1TB 80$ (it is the Fastest 1TB on market)
OS : Window 7 Home Premium / Professional - 64 Bits
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cpu cooler if you overclocks depending if you perform some in future

with that you come with a awesome build maxedout for 1920x1200 resolution

thanks for your input! When you say a good pc at this price with these specs, how good is good? I mean is it worth the $$$ to spend this amount or for a really good system should I spend more? Would you be really happy with a system with the specs you mentioned or would you be so so....or would you want more? :)

[QUOTE="abncdefghijklmn"]Thanks for the input and the more the merrier ....thought the below info might be of some help.... His comp that he plays on now is: HP Pavilion a125on 3800+ AMD Athlon 64x2 Processor 1.0GB memory 250 GB Hard Drive Integrated ATI Radeon xpress 200 graphics mine I had built eons ago in2002 as a gaming comp....which is: Pentium(R) 4 cpu 2.60 GHZ with 512 MG Ram NVidia Geforce Fx 5200 But I use mine as only a home comp. So as you can see we are outdated mostly in the Graphics cards. I could use my comp if had to and have a friend build him a comp inside mine. Lord knows the box is big enough. It also has a few fans. So with the suggestions that are being made how much faster and graphics will it be with what are suggested. Not on my comp but his. Unless it is just better to have him upgrade in mine? although that might just confuse me more...lol However with the comp he's got should I just use that and upgrade it? Or could I do better by not doing that? I can also bring all the specs forward if that will also help with this question.UltimateGamer95

Perhaps one of the fine people I know on the forum can build you one. I am starting to build pcs for people on here, but I'd be willing to recommend anyone here that lives close to you instead that way perhaps the two of you can meet and work out a deal (better having someone build you one than going for a pre-built). There is a bit of a problem though. The higher end ATI cards are in very short supply so finding a 5850 or 5870 for example could be difficult. However, to get around this I would just get two 5770's and to be honest two 5770's in crossfireX mode are as fast as a 5850 in most games. Here perhaps this benchmark can prove my point http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5770-review-test/18. So you would basically want a PC that uses two 5770's in crossfirex and the performance of these cards won't be far from a 5870 either. Also you will want a system based around the Core i7 920 or the AMD Phenom II x4 965 CPU. Oh and I'm a girl by the way :). You see I'm taking my love and experience with computers and trying to start my own somewhat of a business building PCs for people (making some money through build fees) and I've noticed that this area of the PC industry is growing quickly and there is a lot of potential for such a business as the one I am starting to succeed. I can build you a pc if you'd like however, the only track record I have online is selling through my Ebay account http://myworld.ebay.com/funandgames1990/. Also check my Gamespot profile and I can give you more information about myself if you'd like. It's absolutely up to you what you want to do however, I'd suggest not going with a pre-built.

hehehe..I'm a girl to, however am much much older than you :) so what would a computer look like that you would build for me? Or should I say for my son. I see the above but laying it all out what would you put all in it...A neighbor /friends son of mine builds computers but not sure how good he is. I am not that experianced with this. So I have come a hunting for those that are! And what do you charge to put it together and send out to me?

Hi everyone, I want to have a comp build(Gaming) for my 13 y.o. He wanted Alienware but after researching it, it seems like I have better options. I am asking for all of your opinions on best place to have it built and what is a good rig for around $1000- $1500. So if you had the money and this is what you could afford...give or take...what would you have put in it and where would you have it built? I have read that ibuypower.com is good...is that true? Your opinions are valuable to me. It is for Christmas. Thanks for your time and input! by the way not sure why the UN came up as it did...but my name is Robin.
