What I Have Been Doing.

So many things have happened in the past few weeks and I'm listing all of the important events:

1- I got a new PC (part by part) excluding the GPU since I'm eagerly waiting for Nvidia's new set of GPUs and their fermi tech.

2- My PS3 died again  and it is the same problem, the blu-ray lens. I might get a new PS3 slim or I'll just order the blu-ray drive from ebay and assemble it myself as I did last time.

3- Before my PS3 died I played ACII and R&C ACiT and they are both great specially R&C, sadly I can't play them now :(

4- I got Divinity II on PC and so far I like it more than Dragon Age, mostly because the gameplay feels better. Dragon Age had a great story but average gameplay imo.

5- I bought new tires for my car (Accord 2007, white 8)) after driving 50,000 Km on them, now it is a whole different experience with the new ones (old ones were 205mm wide and the new ones are 215mm, both 60mm high).

6- I've been watching a lot of Korean dramas lately and man, I'm getting addicted to them as I am with animes, just to list a few:

- Kingdom of the Wind, history & romance.

- Fantasy Couple, comedy & romance.

- Bad family, comedy & romance.

- IRIS, action, romance.

I'd rate all of them at AAA score.

7- It's been a while since I last watched some animes but here are the latest ones:

- Needless (AAA).

- 07 Ghost (AA).

- Candy Boy (AA).

- Kurokami (AAA).

So, yeah, this sums it all up.

Have fun guys & girls and Happy Gaming!

My First Korean Show: Coffee Prince

Introduction:

I have been bored for 3 days in a row and I wanted to make a change and watched this TV Show called Coffee Prince, I hope I didn't because it was so awesome that I fear I won't be able to watch other Korean Shows because of it  also, a fascinating show like this one must be appreciated for how good it is.

My Impressions:

Very very very romantic, I felt so happy at certain moments and sad at others. What makes it very special and unique to me, besides being the first, is that it feels so honest and pure. The relationship between the hero(Gong Yoo) and the heroine(Yun Eun Hye) is very touching and heart-breaking.

The show starts humorous and becomes dramatic more and more in the later episodes, if I would rate this show I would give it an AAA score (9.0~9.5).

What You Should Do:

If you have the time then don't wait, Go And Watch It NOW!!

If you know a good Korean/Asian shows like this one then please share them.

I'll be waiting for your impressions :)

New Sig.

Sooo,

I've been screwing around with Adobe PS a little bit and by mistake I made a new sig, nothing fancy but it is much better than pure text.

I never thought that sig making is fun! I'll try to learn more about PS since I'm a total noob when it comes to image editing, in fact, that was my first time to use PS to make a composition of images :P

Happy Gaming!

Chrome and MRI Scan.

Part One:

I've just changed my main web browser from Firefox to Chrome and I'm amazed how well it works. Fluid, fast, uses less RAM and pretty looking, too. If you guys use the ugly IE, Opera, Safari or even Firefox I'd suggest you give Chrome a try.

Part Two:

I doubt many of you guys has done MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image) Scan in the past, I just wanted to share my experience with you. So I went to the hospital regarding a problem in my right shoulder which happened a year or so ago(I dislocated it in a Karate training but it got back in-place by itself but something is still wrong) and the doc couldn't find what the problem is so he told me he'd take an MRI Scan in the next appointment.

Two months have passed and I went expecting something similar to the X-Ray device but I found out something else:

(Those are just random pics from the net to show you how the device looks like)

In my mind I was like "Wtf? They're gonna put me inside that machine?", the nurse looked at me and smiled(evil smile I tell ya :P) then said: "don't worry, you'll stay inside for only 30 minutes". "Ohhh, baaaby!" I said talking to myself.

They threw me in after they put a lot of protectives on my body (specially "there"), the noise inside was so damn annoying, you hear: "BEEB..........BEEEB......BEEB...BEEB...BEEB..BEEB.BEEBEEBEEBEEB!!!!!!" for 3 to 5 minutes and then the sound goes off. I thought we were done but then another sound comes into play in the same goddamn-ed sequence.

"After 30 minutes of endless nightmares, abuabed cast himself from the highest hospi..." wait wait, I didn't! lol :P

Ergo Proxy Impressions and First Episode Walkthrough

SUMMARY

In a future where the world has been ravaged by a nuclear apocalyse, there exists salvation in a domed city named "Romdeau", where humans and their android servants, the autoreivs, live in. Under the implementation of complete management control, it is a paradise where feelings are literally discarded, and the governing council dictates the way of life the citizens should live. But this utopian landscape is soon broken by a series of mystifying murders. Real Mayar, a female inspector from the Citizen Information Bureau, along with her autoreiv partner Iggy, are tasked to solve the murder cases. She is soon attacked by a creature drawn to her which is neither human nor android, and learns about the mysterious phenomena called "Awakening", an event which draws her further into the case...and to the world beyond the limits of Romdeau. EPISODE 1 WALKTHROUGH

So now we're done with the formalities:D let's get to the main subject:

Ergo Proxy is one of a few animes I have watched that are extremely psychological, it gives you headaches from times to times and in some episodes you get lost in the story and you might need to re-watched 1 or 2 previous episodes just to keep track of the story and get a better understanding of upcoming events.

WARNING: THE FIRST EPISODE WILL BE ALMOST COMPLETELY SPOILED ON YOU BY READING THE INFORMATION BELOW, PLEASE DON'T READ IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO WATCH IT WITHOUT ANY SPOILERS.

After passing this point there is no going back, let's Go!

NOTE: Click on the images to see at larger size.

The episode starts in a lab with one human scientist and multiple robots(autoreivs) monitoring what seems to be an important subject.

The subject wakes up for some unknown reason and moves (more like teleport) at a high speed in a random manner then breaks the glass, the team immediately leaves the room to avoid any casulties after an evac alarm notification.

In a different time, we're brought to a room of a guy who wakes up, drinks from a bottle of water, gets ready and he takes off on his bike at night. as he drives the traffic light turns into red which makes him stop the bike suddenly and fall.(lol, the idiot  )

With a "heavy"(didn't know how to explain it better than that :P) and confident man's voice we hear someone speaks the following words:

"In that instant, I understood everything. The workings of the Creator and the totality of malevolence. We will not be able to oppose them, however, we must punish them. I can hear the heartbeat.... of beginning"

Here ends the introduction and the real deal begins. The same guy we saw in the introduction "Vincent Law(Vincento Law)", an immigrant from Mosko, goes on a mission to deal with infected with a disease called "Cogito Virus" autoreivs which gives them emotions and that makes them act in unwanted way by Romdeau's system aka The Adminstrator.

The Heroine, Real Mayer(Lilo Mayer) an autoreiv crime detective, goes to meet Vincent Law to gather information about the disease.

And then she goes to inspect the immigrants' section for any leads, and while she was at it:

This part of the episode is damn great, the presentation is top notch and the musics suck you into the atmosphere of the anime. As Real(Lilo) was inspecting the building, a creature fell down from above, luckily she notices it at the very last moment and dodges getting hit by that being.

"It" ran away from the building and Lilo is left with a diseased autoreiv and another robot that tried to kill her, luckily again, she manages to get out of the situation unharmed.

*skipped some part*

After a hard day's work our heroine gets back home, sits down for a minute thinking about that creature and why the authorities try to hide its existence

Anyways, our heroine undresses to take a shower (I love these parts  :P)

But she notices..... something, there is a writing on the toilet's mirror.... with Black Blood! :o

Right after she saw it, the ceiling trumbled down and a huge creature fell down from above, our girl froze, she couldn't speak a word, standing face to face with that creature who looked down upon her and smiled while a drop of tear fell from his eye. Lilo was dead scared and shocked by that scene, it's like as if she was looking at a Death God, who was there to collect her soul. (NO! please don't die please don't die  )

This scene is so well-done, my hair stood up while watching this part and what makes it even better and better is the MUSIC! It puts you in an undescribable moment filled with joy, wonder and mystery. Pics can't capture the greatness of these moments, one needs to witness it with his own eyes to know how much work was spent on such a masterpiece.

At that very instance, another black creature jumped into the scene, hitting the one terrifying Lilo and throwing him away from her, the monsterous creature managed to counter-attack by grabing and throwing the second one also away from Lilo(Real). Both were looking at each other without saying any understandable word. Lilo fell asleep from that shock and this is where the first episode ends.

"EPIC! WOW! I'll watch the WHOLE anime today!" That was my impression right after I finished watching this episode. If I'd give this anime a score it would be between 9.0~9.5, there are a few drawbacks but thay don't eat up much of the score. If you're an anime fan Go and Watch it...NOW!

I wouldn't suggest this anime to non-anime lovers but this episode will sure let you crave to know what will happen in the later episodes. Also since this is my second blog, what do you think of adding pictures as thumbnails? (the way I did), is it better this way or next time I should just put them there as is? even if they take so much time to load?

Also, if you know of an anime or manga that is similar to this one please, state that in your comment, I'd be glad to watch it 8). Btw, I almost always prefer Japanese voices over English ones when it comes to anime with very very few exceptions here and there (like Kenshin the OVA).

I hope you guys enjoyed it. Please leave a comment and thanks for reading :)

First Blog!

So, after 4 years of being a GS member I've finally started my own first blog HURRAY

I'll just throw some random info about me, let's get this over with shall we? :P

I'm currently a Senior University student majoring in Computer Engineering BS Degree. I was born in the Middle East(strange I know) in 30th of July 1987.

My main three hobbies are Games, Animes(or Manga) and Karate(I have a Green Belt ya know?). I'm not a native English speaker, in fact, I'm bad at all the three languages I've learnt which are Arabic, English and Japanese. I want to add a forth language to my list, namely, Spanish (how lovely it is to understand many languages 8)).

About my GS account name.... one of my Arabic friends who introduced me to this site back in 2005 offered me this name which he calls me with, it is a composite of two words Abu(means father) Abed(a tweaked name made by my friend to my real name). If I could change my user name to a different one it would be "El Member", making another account just to change my user name would be a super hassle.

Many of you may wonder: "why the hell does he have very few posts although he's ancient?", lol, I was really not into all of this forums and posting thingy, I was just a silent reader..lurking in the shadows, reading every comment and post left by GS community members.

My Hobbies:

  • Anime: I have been watching anime and reading manga for over 10 years, my best two animes and mangas are Hajime No Ippo and Death Note (check avatar), the former is about boxing and the latter is about (as the name indicates) a death note that anyone whose name is written in that note dies.
  • Games: RPGs, RPGs and RPGs. Specially JRPGs. What makes me like RPGs are mainly the story, events and well-made main characters. This generation lacks RPGs in general but to name a few of my favorites (this and previous gen): Persona series, Final Fantasy series, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (aka Unite) and Valkyria Chronicles.
  • Karate: It's been 3~4 years since I started doing some Martial Arts but the problem is that I can't continue with the training to get a higher belt because of the University, school's got a higher priority but when I get my degree I'll be able to dedicate a lot of my time in training in order to get a higher belt.

I might make a blog for each one of those in the future..

I guess that's it for my first blog, thanks for reading all of that crap, please leave a comment :)
