Liverpool V Fulham

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez says his side's 1-0 win over Fulham has put pressure on Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title.Yossi Benayoun scored a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute to send Liverpool top of the table by two points, although United have two games in hand.

Benitez said: "We know we are still in the title race. I think it puts a bit more pressure on Manchester United."They have experience and quality but they will be under pressure."United play one of their games in hand on Sunday when they host Aston Villa and a win will see them regain the top spot in the Premier League.

It had looked as though Liverpool were going to be frustrated by Roy Hodgson's side, particularly when they hit the woodwork four times in the first half.

But Benitez insisted he never gave up hope that the goal would come."We were creating chances so we were disappointed we could not score," the Spaniard told BBC Sport. "But to score the late goal we are really pleased.

Matchwinner Benayoun admitted he wondered whether Liverpool would finally score. He said: "We missed a lot of chances and you start to think it will be one of those days that the ball will not go in.

Come on Liverpool!

Liverpool v Aston Villa

My seond bog post about a Liverpool match, im going to start doing blogs alot more often =)

Liverpool 5-0 Aston Villa

Liverpool turned up the pressure on faltering Premier League leaders Manchester United as they swept Aston Villa aside with another goal spree at Anfield.

Steven Gerrard inevitably provided the inspiration with a hat-trick - two from the spot - as Liverpool sent out another emphatic statement of intent about their renewed title ambitions.

Dirk Kuyt started the rout early on with a close-range finish after Gerrard's free-kick was headed on to the crossbar by Xabi Alonso. Albert Riera half-volleyed home the second from keeper Pepe Reina's long clearance and Gerrard added the third before the interval, he beat Brad Friedel with ease from the spot after Nigel Reo-Coker had fouled Riera. With Villa despondent, Gerrard struck again from a well-worked free-kick five minutes after half-time and he sealed his treble on 65 minutes. It was again a penalty, awarded after Friedel brought down Fernando Torres, an offence that earned Villa's unfortunate keeper a red card.

Scoring 13 goals in 3 games against Real Madrid,Manchester United and Aston Villa isnt bad and we have only conceded 1 goal in these 3 games =)

Maybe we can still win the title this year after all

Is this Liverpools season?

Is this finally Liverpools season?

Do you think after all of these years Liverpool can finally win the premier league or do you think we are just getting a little too over exited?
