So about a year ago I played a small portion of a mediocre RPG game called Lord of the Rings: The Third Age on my Xbox... I liked it because it was a lot like the classic idea of RPG, and hails back to my ols NES, TG-16, and SNES days.
Well, I no longer play Xbox because I just find it is lacking something that I can't put my finger on (well, I use it for XBMC, but anyhow...). Recently I picked up this game for the Cube, and so here I am playing it again. I just started it on the weekend after a failed start at Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (I can see that that damn chalice or crystal thing will get very annoying fast).
I kid you not, I was playing this game in my sleep. I just sat/slept there pressing the A button to raise levels. JUST LIKE THE OLD DAYS! Yes!
So I am a few hours in (not counting the A-button tapping while watching TV/sleeping/cooking dinner/listening to music/watching movies, and I can tell that this will be over quickly, because I am about 40% of the way through already. On disc 2 of 2 already.
After this one, I am not sure what I'll try next. Possibly I'll jump into Tales of Symphonia, as the last game I'll complete before the Wii hits. Because I'm generally a slow gamer with only a few hours per week to play, and TOS is reportedly long.
Anyhow, I like this game just because it's fairly pretty (but with some bad framerate issues that don't really hinder gameplay) and has a nostalgic feel to it, kinda like Baten Kaitos did.

Finished Baten Kaitos

The first RPG that I've finished in years... Not without a little help though.
Overall, the game was too long, at some times too complex and too disjointed, and the voice acting was horrible... But I liked it. And the ending was a letdown, but it also made me sad.
The prequel is coming out in a couple months, so I am not sure if I will want it or not.. I don't see what would be
interesting about it, to be honest.
Either way, it's 5am, and I have to work at 9am, so it's sleepy time.
Not sure what I will pop into my Cube next.
