I played MAG a bunch when it was new, and yeah, it's way better when you're playing on a squad with people you know, and know how to work together. I might get back into it when Move comes out, if the Move support in MAG is good. I loved playing Metroid Prime Trilogy on my Wii (I think pointer devices are awesome, and I'm excited for Move because of that). I just hope they get the aiming right. Lots of early Wii FPS games' motion controls sucked (Red Steel, MOH Vanguard, COD3, etc).

if you undecided on which sku ps3 to, mat i recommed that you get the 120gig ps3. take some of the 100$ you save and buy your own after market HDD. you can get 320gig drives for as little as 50$ online at newegg.com.

Wild_Card
That depends on if the OP is interested in PlayStation Move. If he/she is, then I would say just wait until Sept. 19th and buy the $399 bundle that includes the Move bundle and a 320GB HDD. That is essentially a free upgrade from 120GB (well, 160GB now), to 320. Of course, if he/she has no interest in Move, then yeah, go for the cheapest PS3 you can find (120GB are discounted at a lot of places to under $299 to clear them out for the 160GBs).

*rolleyes* at the people recommending full retail disc games when the guy asked for PSN gems... Anyhow. If you have PlayStation Plus or the most recent episode of Qore, grab the TerRover demo. I freaking LOVE that game. It's by Creat, but it looks and feels a lot like a PixelJunk game. The controls will probably take you a bit to get used to, but trust me, it gets much easier once you get the hang of the button layout and the idea of shifting weight. It's coming out next week in North America for $14.99, which I will gladly pay, but I wish it was only $9.99. It seems like most people think $9.99 is the sweet spot, and I agree. But I'm fine paying more if it's a game I am convinced I'll love and play. Castle Crashers just came out for PS3, and it's really good. Astro Tripper is great fun, and challenging. It's a tad like Defender in some ways, but kinda hard to compare to anything else. Shatter is really really good if you like Breakout style games, but it has truly evolved the game. Trine is cool, too, and has a platinum trophy. Puzzle Quest is amazing, if you haven't played it on any system yet, get it. Peggle, too. Those are all the PSN games I think are at the top of my list (not counting the ones you said not to mention, of course). And I own a lot (90+).

I put TONS of hours into Fallout 3,. Nier, and Oblivion. I've played through the TerRover demo at least 6 times now. CAN'T WAIT for Tuesday! I also played the Battlefield Bad Company demo for over 12 hours before the full game came out, and then I lost interest mostly.

I think I got it for $39.99 the day it came out because of a sale or something. It was worth that, easily. It's the only Batman game that I've played that I liked. And I liked it a lot.

[QUOTE="jnjreams76"][QUOTE="The-Apostle"]I heard we can still use the DS3 in combination with Move. Anyone know if this is true? If so, can you provide me with a link? Because it'll decide whether or not I'm still interested.The-Apostle
yes, you can use DS3. the only issue with that, from what I've read, is that it feels quite awkward holding left hand only. too lazy to look for a link, but it's been well documented.

I've tried finding a link but can't. Also, I think it would feel less awkward than the navigational remote they're using. I'd still like to read about it, though.

You don't have to look very far to find it... It's all over the official Sony Move site. For example: http://us.playstation.com/ps3/playstation-move/faq/ and http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/scph-98061.html Edit: linkified the URLs

If I do a full backup onto an external hard drive and then try to restore the data onto a different PS3 system, will the copy protected data be carried over too?

JediKnight66
Nope. It'll restore only the saves that aren't copy-protected. There used to be a trick you could do by adding a user to your system and using that account to start the backup, but it no longer works on more recent firmwares. Sony is actively blocking users from protecting their time investment, and it really, really pisses me off. I just bought a 120GB PS3 for my living room and moved my old 40GB upstairs (might be selling it to a friend later) and I couldn't keep a lot of my saves (Killzone 2, Demon's Souls, Assassin's Creed II, Godfather, Lost Planet, Mercs 2, Guitar Hero Metallica, Rock Band, UNO, and more). A year ago my 40GB PS3 died and I had to send it in to Sony. They sent me a refurb, and I lost my copy-protected saves then, as well. I am just not going to buy games with copy-protected save files anymore. It's stupid, pointless, and anti-consumer.

[QUOTE="valgear"]

Notice the "Tagged: April Fools 09" that should have been the biggest clue there.

TX360
I never noticed

Probably that's because I changed the tags on all of our April Fool's stories after 12:00 noon, so that people knew they weren't real after that . (April Fool's Day ends at noon, at least in Canada).

Wow. The first page of this thread was basically one Kojima fanboy defending MGS4's honor. Anyhow, it depends on your definition of "best." For me, it's PixelJunk Eden, overall. MGS4 is a great game, and of the retail disc games, it's the best, technically, visually, etc. But for me, I prefer shooters, and I liked the style of Resistance, particularly near the end (reminded me a little of Metroid, actually).

Since I run Linux, and I haven't had to upgrade my PC since 2002, I think this is a PS3 purchase for me. lol
