[QUOTE="jedigemini"][QUOTE="bryehngeocef"] Wii needs more games, plain and simple. Anything multi-plat (Godfather, Spider-Man 3, etc) is far better on one of the Next-Gen consoles.
Games like Strikers and Big Brain are all well and good, and will probably sell pretty well. It still doesn't change the fact that Wii will have the slowest stream of new releases out of any current system.
And just like GameCube, most of the games worth playing are Nintendo titles.
Don't get me wrong, I've had Wii since launch and have had some good times with it, but the software support is sketchy at best and it takes a back seat to every other platform I play games on, 360, PS2, DS and even PSP.
Wii is selling well now, but so did GameCube in it's first year. I think we'll be hitting the saturation point soon, and the hardware sales will plateau.
Quite simply, software sells consoles. If you're a parent of, or a 12 year old kid, Wii's library will do you just fine.
If you're looking for games with substance, any sort of online that can handle more than 4 players, downloadable content, demos, original downloadable games or something that runs in HD...Wii is simply not a good choice as your main console.
Microsoft should thank Nintendo for essentially forcing me to buy a 360 for my hardcore gaming needs :P

Comparing Wii sales to GC sales at this point is downright delsuional (seeing as to how you could find a GC in stores with ease after being on the market for only two weeks)... when are people going to snap out of this fantasy land that they inhabit? How many times do you have to see the Wii nearly double the 360 or PS3 in NDP sales figures before you become a believer... well NDP is due out again in a couple of days, maybe that will help ;)Thing is, sales numbers really don't matter to someone that just wants to play games, and I think you missed the point.
Wii will hit what is known as the "Saturation Point" in economics. The point where everyone that wanted one (Zelda fans) will have it. After that, when people start to realize what they're missing they'll start turning to another console and Wii's numbers will drop off.
I've bought 2 Wii units myself (One USA, one JPN), and still found the need to get a 360.
very good point. wii owners will feel left out from all the great games and depth that they will buy secondary consoles.
