reticle acceleration by default is sh*t. period. you should have an option like with a mouse, as like the sensitivty controls. So then people who like/can use it can go ahead and use it, while others can use it the way they want.

acceleration for realism is crud, its simply adding forced artificial inaccuracy for those not used to it, rather than being completely controlled by the user. I want a close relationship between how i nudge the stick and what i see in the result, not a delay that i have to get used to...

grr all it means is that because i really want to play the damn game cos it looks cool, i have to spend heaps of time getting used to a new control acceleration...

wateva - should just have an option - its not that hard.

just my opinion, dont get all flamey on me ;)

killzone liberation is my most played game by far

perfect balance, gameplay, controls, action, graphics, unlockables, online action, everything is cool about this game....

first game i bought and the one that is currently in my psp lol

i think the only other game i have really fallen for is loco roco - great game in its simplicity and its quite addictive.

wth? 1GB for THAT demo???

played the demo - i agree with that andre guy, the look controls have a weird slight delay on them which gives a slowness, even when you increase sensitivity, it never fully removes the slight delay. It annoyes me...

the demo was actually pretty lame for a game they are trying to really hype up - FEAR2 demo was awesome - lots of weapons, environments, the mech suit - gives you a good impression of the variety - and the look controls were fast and responsive.

lovely looking, beautiful animation - just have to get used to the enw sticky look controls.

looking forward to the full game!

I like it in some games, but it seems like EVERY shooter that comes out now uses the whole 'slight zoom' mode where your damn gun graphic takes up most of the screen! apparently it gives us 'realism' and 'immersion' - yeh if you are a military fan boy who loves guns and cares that aiming is easier when looking down the sights. If youre not it can be just annoying, and not add anything to the gameplay experience...

id like some designers to think about balancing the arcade vs the realism.

If animated well and timed well it can feel nice and physical - but can they do it without my gun taking up a good portion of my screen real estate!

like i said, it CAN work ...but whats next? the camera tilting because the mo cap data of the army sgt they hired leaned in a bit?? or what about just dying when you get shot in the face - that would be silly wouldnt it? hmm....

waah its time i had a 'whine' ...with some cheese and crackers...

such a great game - lots of hours to be put into it - and rewarding too

i find it is a game i can leave for a bit then keep coming back to - always happy to return to fiddle with one of my characters and their lootz hehe

it works well on PC for me - ive had no issues and the graphics are frakkin sweet!

also on PC the construction kit and mods are available! just like oblivion (which is my fave rpg despite some flaws i can look past overall) this will give you endless gameplay fun

the main thing id say is dont mistake this game for a shooter like some people do - its an RPG with a different pace and feel, depending on how you play.

i guess sometimes the colour palette gets a 'little' bit tiring, very mono chromatic - but overall when the post apocolyptic sunrise hits the edge of a broken apart aircraft carrier at magic hour, or the spec highlights on the exploding face of a mutated human in the dry cold starlit evening - damn its just ...sniff...so.. sniff ...beautiful

...lincoln's repeater ftw!

1) it could be that he has an Enhanced Definition Television (EDTV). Better than SD, but not as good as HD.

2) Depends on the movie that he's watching. Some of the older movies I don't think should be on Blu-ray. Personally, I think that if it wasn't shot digitally, then leave it on DVD.

Large_Soda

2) Mmmm no. A lot has to do with the transfer. There are many great looking BD movies that were shot on film, such as Black Hawk Down, The Shawshank Redemption, Man On Fire and The Dark Knight.

correct, its all the transfer, film has more res than digital HD film anyways, so it is just a matter of the transfer res and quality - BD's can hold hold the HD res, while old DVDs could handle being mastered into the TV res of the time... thus=laaaaame lol

so if an older movie was shot on film and it was mastered to blu-ray it would be just as nice - if not more so - than newer HD films...

its good but overrated - at least by gamespot anyway - perfect 10? wth? only if youre a fan of those types of games

if you like the look of the characters, and you like stealthy action games, then id buy it!

if you dont like those kind of games, then dont - it IS expensive...

...i dunno...its all subjective anyways :) for example i think star control 2 had more features and better story with better action LOL no seriously i mean it....sigh

im going to bed...

If you have a TV that supports 1920x1080, and you are watching blu-ray it means that you will see more pixels - resulting in what appears to be a sharper image. It will be more obvious if previously you were watching movies on an older tellie which has a display res of (kind of) 768x576 (in Oz)

If you dont really notice anything, it could be that your tv doesnt actually go to 1920x1080, or you are used to watching medium resolution tvs like 720 or 1024 or something so the difference isnt as obvious. Or it might mean that you go to the movies a lot and are used to great big screens! :)

It doesnt make a difference whether it was shot Digital or Film, its the resolution of the movie when mastered onto the disc. Older DVDs just had the films mastered into older tv res (720x576) so it looked less sharp. It is funny because Digital Film actually has less resolution than Film which is 2048x1556 (anamorphic)

HD is referred to in kinda weird ways these days.

HD (from a film industry POV) is a resolution - 1920x1080 - anything else is a salesperson trying to sell you a TV under false pretenses. The size of the tellie doesnt matter, as long as its got that resolution. 540p and 720p etc mght be _higher_ resolutions than your old tellies, but technically they arent HD (salespeople made up 'FullHD' and 'HD' to make things confusing more customers)

sorry i went off on a rant bit but it annoys me when salepeople try to say that HD means it has a HD tuner in it....

ow well enough of that rambling...

such a weird way of putting it - 'non CGI' - i mean real time rendering is still computer generated imagery lol

anyways looks cool, nice per pixel motion blur...

and really nice tensile control for the blended rag dool aniamtions hitting floor etc. Mixed with keyframe anim this looks neat! It means the limbs/object dont wobble around like crazy when they get hit, they ahve kind of a tension and weight to them - good to finally see this in some games :)
