Confirm, The only time you see your ammo count is when you make purchases at the store. Its really not that bad though, play stealthy use your knife, always collect ammo and whe you need it youll have it.

The game is Glitchy, I at one point walked through a whole level because all of the enemys where frozen, its locked my box up multiple times, and after beating it on ranger hardcore no achievment. So it doesnt surprise me at all to find out it wont even load, lol

It's legit Unless Gamestop messed it up. The reason Im saying that is I didnt preorder but they still gave me the preorder code. I dont think that would matter.
