I didn't need your topic to make me sad. I'm a fan of the gaming industry, and the bleak future in store for all gamers makes me sad. I am a little perplexed why you created a new account just to make this thread. What are you scared of?

Of course nintendo isn't laughing. they were in a similar position that sony is in right now, last generation. if anything, nintendo was too arrogant to realize that they couldn't win on 1st party games alone and were humbled enough to go down the route they did this generation by entertaining to the casuals. Sony was arrogant this gen thinking they could win on brand name alone. Hopefully this gen will humble them enough to not launch such an expensive console next gen and actually try to get better third party support, rather then make hardware they dont want to devolop on.

Nintendo's mistakes track back to their arrogance during the SNES era when they mistreated their 3rd party developers.

In any case, yes Nintendo is probably laughing now but not for long. It's not likely that they can replicate the success of the wii when it's so heavily dependent on a gimmick that will probably go out of fashion when Sony and Microsoft put out a few titles with motion tech and the public grows weary of it.

Sony are bleeding money anyway, with or without their loss making gaming hardware.

The world economy is primarily responsible for Sony's current losses. They likely affect nintendo too, but of course, Nintendo sells the wii at more than 200% profit and is in a much better position that Sony, who is barely selling the PS3 for more than it's development costs.
