I want to get behind this, I really do. As Peter Brown says, this is one of those games that means a lot to me. But FF7 was a strategy game. FF7 Remake is an action game. To change the genre of game-play is unheard of. I love my strategy games, and unfortunately, this will have too much of the modern action involved for me to get excited about it.
I thought FF15 was dreadful. Whiny, rich, entitled characters driving around and the worst combat action I've ever played with in a triple A game. I feel like this game is going to be frighteningly similar to that style of game-play.
Fingers crossed there's enough of the old version to keep it alive. But worst case, I just keep replaying the old FF7! So I have nothing to complain about but more options at my disposal.
Kinda excited about the movie, but that was a pretty weak trailer. Awful editing during the lawnmower bit. Too many stutter cuts throughout the entire thing. I wouldn't expect any less from the guys who made "IT". They wouldn't know how to make subtle horror if it smacked them over the head with a mallet.
The shot of Chucky standing in the bedroom staring at him, now that was freaky. Good, honest horror there.
@Pyrosa: I noticed the lighting too. Thought it was pretty great mood lighting, and the darkness is setting up the cold cramping feeling everyone is going to eventually face. But some scenes were almost unwatchable they were so poorly lit.
Mark Rylance won Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Bridge of Spies'.
I thought Tom Hardy's role in 'The Revenant' was one of the most brilliant acting performances I've ever seen. I actually thought he eclipsed DiCaprio, in what was an Oscar win for him that year. What a shame!
