[QUOTE="-clippa-"]

Vsync is "vertical synchronization". Basically it makes your framerate match your monitors refresh rate. So if you have a monitor with the refresh rate set to 60, the highest number of frames per second you will get will be 60.

Some people like vsync because it eliminates screen tearing. I personally hate it as it introduces mouse lag, and as you've seen, caps your framerate, it also uses some of the horse power of your gpu. My advice is to leave it off unless you're playing a game that isn't first person, something like a football game with a control pad where you won't notice mouse lag or even be using a mouse.

thanx for your advice

thanx u all for answering , i am playing games with my fan on auto , 40% ..i have GTX EVGA 285 sc edition which gives more heat than my old GTX 260 SC ..My temp reaches 85-88c on games like call of juarez, crysis ..my case is gigabyte sumo with 2 fans back and one infront ..with mesh side panel ..i think its good aeration ?? but i wana ask what does VSYNC stands for and whats is its importance ?? should i keep it always off to get high frame rates ??

hi all with the optimum fan speed of the card which is usualy 40% temp reach 70 or 72 c ...with crysis showing some artifacts and glitches , so my question is what is the optimum temp to keep good games going and should i return back to stock fan speed after gaming ? and what about the card function on the long run with playing with the fan speed ?? _____________________________ CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO e6550@2.33 ghz Memory: 4 GB RAM (supertalent DDR2 800mhz) GPU: (EVGA) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 core 216 superclocked @626/1349/1053 (180.48) PSU: Thermaltake 750W OS: Windows XP professional 32 bit monitor: LG 20 inch LCD 1280x1024 sound card: Creative XFI Fatality Xtremegamer
