I played a lot of SWAT 4 back in the day, did it have some kind of expansion like Raven Shield?

Gothic 2 is the best but it'd be very rough visually and combat wise to be enjoyable anymore.
Gothic 3 with patches and fixes is a decent experience though
I just couldn't find anything good to play so i dusted off some old titles like Unreal 2, Vietcong and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Even to this day, the thing that shocked me the most is the detail they put in every single thing. Textures may be low res and they lack of any blur or fancy effects like modern games but they're still enjoyable and fast paced with decent cutscenes and voice acting.
New games now focus on adding some effect or thing that outshines the rest and a crappy cover system, but everything looks like copy and paste and very dull and flat.
I'd like to know some similar games from around 2001-2006 using engines like unreal 2, idtech3, etc.. that i may have missed:
Some remarkable titles that i remember are:
- No one lives forever 2
- Rainbow six 3
- Soldier of fortune
- 007: Nightfire
- Red Faction 1
- Star Wars Republic Commando
If you find some friends to play with, or get into a proper squad, you can enjoy some teamworking in bf4, but it's all about fancy effects and things exploding close to you.
GO is just bad, it's like tf2 simulating cod weapon camos and with a lot of clueless players influenced by heavy advertising saying that pro players play cs go.
And just avoid ghosts lol, you could get Black Ops 2 instead but it's almost empty.
Unless you are very keen on fps games and can hold easily 120-144fps, go for IPS. Those ultra fast TN 120hz monitors have very dull colors and poor image quality for achieving such response times.
You're not going to get input lag or ghosting with 5-8ms monitors, i tried so many different monitors and even hd tv's, and only noticed ghosting on big tv's with all those sharpening effects on. If you posted on ps4 forums i guess you'll be using it with a console aswell, so 120-144hz would be even more pointless.
I suggest this brand new IPS from LG, i have an older model with similar panel and works great

Oh one more thing, if you're going 1920x1080, just don't go over 24".
@geminontraveler:
I got textures like that aswell, i reckon they can't be that bad, but even loading properly, they are awful and ugly, it's like a mw3 running at 30 fps's with dogs. The only part that looks decent is the mission of the jungle where whe foliage covers up the nasty textures.
By the way, Titanfall looks as bad as IW cods but without dogs. The thing about this is how come a so dated game claims to be next gen and in the process runs like cow.
If they stopped making lame games with flashy effects and screen blur, old ones wouldn't feel dated.
What about the air players going heli-jet only and getting easily 70-4? I guess they use the radar and annihilate infantry one by one, but still, it's pretty lame and suspicious.
@wis3boi: Wow, if it really does look like that on the consoles, it's no where near considered "next-gen" nor even current-gen as their marketing tried to sell it as.
that was taken from max on pc :D
A friend shared his steam library and i gave it a go. I had to dload like 30gb, hoping for ultra hd textures and this is what i got
This and extremely choppy performance. Even couldn't launch the game with less than 6gb of ram and had to do a dirty workaround. I think they tried to add some more complex particles and debris to the very old engine, attemping to achieve a fake next-gen feel and they just broke it.
BO2 has some nice effects and looks eye candy sometimes though.
