I am not sure how ps3 plays ps2/1 games

but if it does...how are they killing ps2? ps3 is like ps2 evolved, it can do EVERYTHING ps2 with same controller, but better

from dvd to blu-ray, from wire to wireless, from memory card to harddrive, from ps2/1 games to HD games. isn't that right?

ps3 totally screwed up backward compatibility. ps1 and ps2 games don't play properly.

i repeat, i'm no t a ps2 fanboy, i just think it's a great console, it's still alive and releasing lots of games every week, and my point is: "gamespot wants us to think ps2 is dead, and it's not. they don't care about reviewing ps2 games, they closed the ps2 forum..."

Um the last good year for the ps2, for me personally, was 2007. GOW2, Tomb raider -anniversary were brilliant.And to a lesser extent stuntman ignition which i thought was cool. Ive checked out all the games coming for the ps2 for the next 1-2 years and all i see is absolute shovelware.

I know there are quite a few Shin megami tensei persona fans out there and i guess thats a big games. But its hardly mainstream and i have no interest in that game.

Only 2 future titles come to mind that could be good. Maybe destroy all humans-big willy, and  Tomb raider-underworld.   But seeing the horrendous scores of  some ps2 multiplatform games recently i woudnt get my hopes up. 

I Still have alot of ps2 games to complete but im probably done with buying any future titles.

The ps2 forums were quite empty and barren anyway. Hardly any activity. Just the same old "recommendation and top 10" threads over and over. I dont mind these boards. Its got 3 consoles and its still pretty barren around this place.  Why unnessary keep so many seperate forums for ps2,xbox,gc?. Seems alright to me.

even if you don't like the ps2 games sony is releasing, they're there. coming out every week.

and gamespot doesn't care about reviewng those, that's my complain.

Ok, so you're saying that sony is keeping alive ps2 because they screwed with ps3.

So, if ps2 is still alive (because it is definately alive) why is gamespot "hiding" it, or trying to make it dissapear?

gamespot removed the ps2 forum (the xbox and gamecube also) but i still don't know why.

i mean, ok, the ps2 is 7 years old, but it's still taking out many good games, and there's a LOT of people that still play with this console... so the question is... is this something sony asked for to increase the ps3 sales?

here at GS, the review are pretty old, even if there are lot of releases weekly... what's going on?

i'm not onw of those sony stupid fan or anything, i'm happy with my ps2, i nkow it's old, but they're still releasing games, and gamespot should review those games, i'm not a suscriber, but i do watch all those 1000000 ads gamespot has. So basically, i'm paying to make this site work.
