This isn't about difference of opinion, this is about hatred for clumsy and unfounded criticisms that go unchallenged by the staff.
Males get it as bad as females in this game - why does nobody in Gamespot have the integrity to support this obvious fact? Instead we watch sycophants blindly defend a reviewer's unsustainable critique of a game that deserves better. I see only terrible journalism here.
Hello, Johnny's boss. Are you planning on addressing the waves of constructive criticism concerning the reviewer's tunnelled understanding of misogny, or the game scoring less than its vastly inferior predecessor? These are legitimate concerns being consciously ignored.
Another apologist who would sooner counter arguments from the extremists than address the points made by legitimate critics. This is dishonest and lazy - you can't address worthy questions about misogyny and political muddles so you just focus on something else. Terrible journalism. For the third time, look at male portrayals and say this game is anti-woman. It's absurd and stupid. You should have been honest and featured these criticisms instead of rambling on about personal attacks. That might actually make the reviewer's points seem stupid, so you didn't.
I'm baffled by the front line defence against critics of this review; we aren't all misogynists lampooning women for speaking out against sexism. Most of us are just rightfully bemused by your comments about gender issues in this game.
The male characters are murdering, gang-banging, drug-dealing, arrogant, corrupt, stupid thugs with no redeeming qualities. You only criticise the game for its portrayal of female characters. Absolutely absurd. The game is based on Los Angeles' sprawling underworld - believe it or not, you don't find many icons of feminine progressiveness here. Don't blame Rockstar for not inventing a few likeable female characters - like they didn't male - to satisfy somebody who doesn't evidently understand sexism.
I'm so bored of Petit's nauseating pseudo-intellectual commentary on games; her Last Of Us analysis was as pettifogged as her misplaced anger at misogyny here. No character in GTA5 - male or female - is portrayed in a good light. That's not sexism at all.
Everybody is bad - the lunacy of far-right and far-left movements are treated similarly. It doesn't make it muddled, it just makes it non-partisan and honest enough to understand that both ends have their failings.
