[QUOTE="percech"]What are you talking about? Are they gonna remove it from XBL? Where will my tv shows go? I use the Zune Marketplace on XBL all the time.tjoeb123
The topic title needs to be rephrased to be something like "Microsoft Kills the Zune HD" because he means the Zune PLAYER, not the Zune SERVICE. Hell, this shouldn't even be in SW at all.

Why not, xbox fans were yelling that Zune HD games were going to win the handheld market. a year later, those games didn't do much at all, just like 360 did in japan. LMAO

I remember when a lot of the xbox fans thought when MS said xbl will support Zune, that it was going to sell like hot cakes. Guess that didn't turn out as expected.

such a sad day for zune. I remember how MS was touting how xbl would be the key feature for the zune, but today the has officially died :( . we will miss yah zune, may you RIP.

"Like Zune's own Business Development Manager once said, allconsumer electronics products have a lifespan, and today the (not so long) linage of dedicated Zune hardware expires not with a roar, but with a promise to honor its warranties. Tucked away in the inner chambers of the Zune support site lies a page spelling out Microsoft's final words on the device, "Windows Phone will be the focus of our mobile music and video strategy," it says, "we will no longer be producing Zune players." The Zune HD is survived by the Zune music service, which will continue to function with straggling standalone media players, as well as the Windows desktop, Windows Phoneand Xbox platforms."

Good by COD, moving over to the BF. I love the beta so far, once the bugs are fixed going to enjoy it even more.

[QUOTE="alfy57"][QUOTE="Led_poison"]Bing just copies what Google doesedidili

Yep, and sad thing is that MS flopped last year on their mobile os. Now they are coming out with Mango, which I feel will flop also. MS should just leave the mobile OS to the big boys (google and apple)

That would be a terrible decision for the customers. We need more competition than those two.

As for Bing, nobody thought it would make money in short terms, google is quite a beast. Bing is more of a service which will complement other MS products. It is on 360, phone and will be integrated more in Win8. It adds value to those products even though it may not make money by itself.

WEll you do got a point. I mean MS can be the mobile os that Google and Apple can pick on

http://www.bgr.com/2011/09/21/microsoft-has-lost-5-5-billion-on-bing-since-launch/

"Microsoft has lost $5.5 billion, an average drain of $1 billion per quarter, on Bing since it introduced the search engine in 2009,CNNMoneyreported on Wednesday. Despite the losses, Microsoft'sBing reached a 30% of the US search engine share at just 14.7%in April of this year, slowly narrowing the gap with Google, although comScore's figures pin the search engine's share at just 14.7%. Despite the constant drain, Microsoft still has a plan for Bing. During the company's financial analyst meeting in California recently, Microsoft's president of online services Qi Lu said his company hopes to use Bing to "reorganize the web" to "change the game fundamentally" instead of taking on Google in a head-to-head dogfight. Read on for more.

"We are able to try things with much more flexibility," Bing director Stefan Weitz said. "If we make a mistake, it's not going to take down the company." Analysts believe Microsoft will continue to lose money, however. "Bing will likely be better than Google over time, but even if it is, users and advertisers still need to go to them," McAdams Wright Ragen analyst Sid Parakh toldCNNMoney. "To be clear, this will take a long, long time to play out. This is something Microsoft will continue to lose money on."

Man this is sad, I know the new dashboard will have bing, but do you think xbl customers can save MS from losing more money on bing? 5.5 bill seems a lot of money to lose.
