The ideas were sent to the officers to start working on them. Some of them has already been implemented in the past few hours. Check the board and see by yourself. ;)

In this scrapbook, we will be posting a photo every now and then about a memorable moment in F1 and comment on it.

Schumacher breaks his leg in Silverstone 1999... could the champion have been different if this accident never happenned?

In Silverstone 1999, the German F1 legend Michael Schumacher goes into the high speed corner, the Stowe Corner, but his Ferrari's rear brake fails and he crashes into the tyre wall resulting in a broken leg. The accident left Schumi out of the F1 world for the next seven races and was temporarily replaced by the Finnish driver Mika Salo. Eddie Irvine then assumed the leading position at Ferrari to go for a battle on the title with the wolrd champion at that time the Finnish F1 legend Mika Hakkinen.

Michael later returned in the Malaysian GP where he qualified in the pole position.

Eddie put up an excellent perfromance; winning 3 races in Austria, Germany and Malaysia. However, that wasn't enough to stop Hakkinen form winning his second world title in a row; by a difference of 2 point to Irvine (76 to 74). Schumacher ended in the 5th position with 44 points; 32 behind the champion Mika Hakkinen.

Some people still question till now: could the chmapion have been different if that accident never happenned?

Share your thoughts on this photo and incident with the other F1PU members! :)

Speed's performance is below average, I'm won't be surprised if I don't see him in F1 next year.

You don't have to be that offensive in your responses, officers.
I have stated my reasons (wether you care to know them or not) AND have stated how I'm going to fix things.

Kipi, you say that you "feel that there is hardly any gratitude at all for what us officers have done to keep this union alive", what more do you want m8? I have stated more than once that you are one of our best officers, and I hope that you continue with us. But if you feel that you cannot work with us to lift the union up again, then you know what to do.

Blaze, you said that "if you arent up to the job for whatever reason, then maybe you should consider not doing it anymore", did I say that m8?! I have stated my plans to lift this union up, so how do you say that after reading what I wrote both here and in the PM?

In brief, I have founded this union and I'm not planning to see it die before my eyes. I'm going to do this, if you care care join then you are welcomed.

Do you think you can become the next Hermann Tilke?
If you think so, the F1PU gives you the chance to show everyone your skills and potential in designing Formula One racing tracks!

Here are the rules: (updated: 2/8/2007)
1. The track an be drawn by hand and scanned, or you can use a computer software.
2. The track must have the following basics: name, number of laps, length, race distance, average lap record.
3. You must clearly show the start/finish line, pit stop, and speed trap.
4. The three sectors must be clearly shown.
5. The grandstands must be well positioned and they should be reaosnable in size and number.
6. You should indicate the speed at each turn, and each speed should be aprorpiate for the turn. For example, you cannot put a speed of 200km/h on a 90 degrees turn. If you want an idea about the speeds, check the tracks layout at the official F1 website.

If we get a few designs from the members, we will create a grading system where each track will be graded on specific points such as the overall design, the speed of each turn, the grandstands and so on.

Sharpen that pencil or load up the drawing software, and show us what you've got!

NOTE: credits to kipi19 for the original idea, rules set by aloushi87

Dear fellow members and officers,
I appreciate this thread where you have grouped your opinions; it shows your true F1 passion and how much you care for the union. With no further delay, this is my formal reply that you have all demanded.

I understand your deep frustration and anger, and you probabaly have every right to feel it. After all, you are the heart of this union that keeps it alive. Throughout the past few months, I've been absent due to some personal problems. I know that my problems shouldn't be affecting the union, and that is why I'm changing the sheets now.

But first, I have to express my disappointment in your trust in me. I admit that I wasn't an example of a good leader in the past few months, but look at the years before that. Many of you guys weren't here at that time, but there were actually times were I was running this union single handedly due to the lack of active officers to help me! At that time, I was left alone with minimal help from the few officers that were there at that time. Now, when the tides change, and the officers have time while I don't, you just all turn on me? Where is the steel trust that was built between us over the past 2 years? Was it all gone just like that?

The union was lucky to get some great officers such as Kipi, Blaze and Redders who have helped tremendously in keeping the union alive. Also, icytower contributed quite an amount to the union. Furthemore, we had some great officers for a while like cm-gamer_2, jamie, SMUboi and MotoGP74. I'd like also to mention a charter meber, Lonzac; who have left the union long time ago due to personal business.

The officers have received the activities mail I have sent them, and with their help I am pretty confident that the F1PU can rise again and stand on its feet. And to the dear memebrs, expect quite a number of activities in the coming days.

I once again appologize for my absence, but there are things in life that just can't be helped. I know that I can't regain your trust immediately, but I'm sure that the coming days will heal all the wounds. I believe that a leader who was able to keep this union running through even tougher times can once again save this union, but this time with the help of the officers. This time I'm back, and this time it's for real!!!

Kind regards,
The F1PU Leader (aloushi87)
