yea you cant use a keyboard on the 360 except for the dashboard, guide,and for typing in song names

there are adapters though that will let you use a keyboard and mouse on a 360

My 360 gets the 3/4 ring every once in a while. like every month or so.

I just turn it off and on, then it works again.
