@Shielder7 @obsequies Can't speak for the other games in this video as I haven't played them but Grim Dawn is very playable. Missing a few features still, but the engine and the gameplay is there and it's very strong.

@jer_1 I've played about 16 hours so far, it's good stuff.

Gameplay and skill stuff is basically the same as TQ, which means it's pretty fantastic. Same kinda deal where you have your dude, once you level once you decide which class you want to be, and then you can chose to dump points into the class itself which increases stats and multipliers and unlocks new skills, or in the skills you unlock. There are passive and active abilities with multiple tiers like in TQ, and also like in TQ you get to chose a second class at lvl 10.

All the combinations have unique names and there is a TON of room for playing around with different builds. There just isn't a good way of respeccing so playing around takes a lot of time.

Looking forward to what the crafting will be like, hopefully it's more fleshed out and less grindy than the crafting in TQ.

Or it's a way for developers to keep the lights on while working out all the kinks of the game without having a publisher hounding them about release windows and shit like that. And I don't think you need to worry about the next call of duty or GTA being an early access title. Battlefield 5 will though, but that's just carrying on the grand tradition of launching games pretty broken. They're basically just carrying on where Troika games left off.

Grim Dawn feels VERY much like Titan Quest right out of the gate. Which is natural considering it's made by some of the dudes what made TQ, and a very good thing considering TQ is still the best Diablo game ever made.

@corgansmate They're just PCs though. Add another $100 for an OS that can run the games you want or another $600 for another PC running an OS that can run the games you want and deal with network latency on input, or just get a PC built.

There are plenty of boutique shops doing similar PCs for about the same price (in fact, most of the unveiled steam machines are just existing mini itx PCs with a steam logo on).

And as someone who's been using linux since 98 or so I love the idea of giving what essentially boils down to debian with some kernel patches to people intimidated by windows.

Can't wait to see the support forums, going to be grand.

@zedrummer When did that happen? Not Gabe's slightly ridiculous rant about it possibly happening sometime in the future, but in the actual real world?
