I remember ten or so years ago, in the mid 2000s, when the gaming market was completely saturated with WWII shooters. But now modern military shooters seem to be the the norm and WWII shooters are like a breath of fresh air. I am very much eager to see how this game and the new Wolfenstein title turn out.
@komuchen @analogjunkie24 Questionable. I have noticed no AI improvements whatsoever and most of the "loads of content" was recycled from Arkham City. As for the graphics, they only look marginally improved.
I've been playing Origins for a good three hours now and I have to say, Elder-Geek hit the nail on the head when they said it felt like Arkham City 1.5 Beta. To the naysayers who will give me the old "If its broke don't fix it" malarkey, look to the sequels of yesteryear. No One Lives Forever 2 improvements/innovations: Smarter AI, more gadgets, RPG elements, stealth features (ability to hide bodies, lean around corners). Doom 2 improvements/innovations: Completely different story, new weapons, new enemies, improved AI, better gore system. Max Payne 2 improvements/innovations: Improved cutscenes, darker and more complex story, ragdoll physics, extensive modding capability, better environments. Call of Duty 2 improvements/innovations: new graphics engine, grenade indicator, intelligent AI, non-linear objectives, streamlined heath system. These were sequels that actually took risks as opposed to Arkham Origins which plays it way too safe to be a full priced sequel.
