After playing 4 hours of x-blades(awesome game)with all on high max aa and all that(1024x768) my max temp is 72 dergees, seems to never go higher, because if it did, my smartdoctor would automaticly pop-up and notifie me of the high temp.Until i get a new fan,i say the temp is ok.......
Sidenote:Please help bunny:D
Dudes, problem solved.I went at smartdoctor and in settings i enableled smart cooling. And now(dow2 beta, mirror's edge) my gpu max temperature is 67-68 degrees, and if i will have any further cooling problems,il put the fan at 100%,turns out that someone mesed out the settings, and the fan was like 30-40 percent working or something like that, the smartdoctor adjusted it.Anyway the smart coolin has steps, like this:
55 degrees,slow fan
59 degrees, medium fan
63 degrees,fast fan
65 degrees,fastest fan
and i can always change the settings, and so i have finally got rid of this problem:D
[QUOTE="andreicucuiet"]A) CPU temps are best if they don't exceed 60 degree C, 50 degree and lower is best. B) GPUs run hotter then CPUs and they're generally built for that. Your 8800GTS 640MB isn't in any harms way running 60-80 degree C...even hitting up to 90 shouldn't be any issue. Of course, lower temps are better. Adjust the fan speed on your GPU to 50% or maybe even 60% Anything over 60% doesn't really do anything more then make more noise. C) If the temps are running hotter then you like, you can always see about adding a fan or two on your tower (if there is room for them) to help exhaust the hot air in your tower. My 8800GTS 512 cards in SLI used to run 80-90 degree C...I had good air flow coming into the case, but no fan pushing out hot air. So I picked up a 120mm fan that fit the back of my case and now my cards don't exceed 80 degree C when under max load. If I'm playing a graphic intense game, then I'll turn the fans on the cards up to 50-60%. i have smartdoctor, what should i do,don't see any precise set the fan speed to.Plus i gonna buy a fan to replace the one that is giving out hot air,not enough of it,so i think........Guys, I REALY need to get rid of this problem once and for all. Here is the story
When i first got the new comp:amd athlon 5600+,GTS 8800 640mb and 2 gigs of ram, i had overheating problems.in gears of war, i got 80 degrees C
with the gpu.i then bought a new fan,the asus silent knight 2,wich did reduce my temp considerably.but now i have the comp for 2 years.and i had 68-67 degrees(in-game) and me and my dad tought that was too hot,so we dusted it.Then i discovered at least 2 cm of dust on the grafics card on the radiator.anyway, after the full dusting,my procesor goes like max 60 degrees, wich i think is good,or else 57-55 degrees. What do you say?Now back to the card. After the dusting idle was like 60 degrees(before was like 64-63).A small yay, followed be a VERY big temperature of 77 degrees in-game(lotr:conquest,mirror's edge, saints row 2,you name it).It even went as high as 79 degrees.I've tried almost every measuring program, fine tuning my system with a prog(donno it's name tho) got my graph card at 80 degrees in 30 min.WHAT SOULD I DO???
a)Is the cpu temp normal???
b)Is the Gpu temp normal???
c)If not how do i fix this
Belive me i am struggling myself since i bought this comp but i coudn't finde conclusive results. Please help..........

I'd say that cpu is a bit too hot at those temps but cpu's can hold much hotter temps. As for the gpu,it's perfectly fine.I'd say start worrying if it gets to 85-90C+,then it's dangerous. But it's alright now.
You could also try picking up some artic silver 5 and pouring some into the gpu, that should lower your temps aswell(both for the cpu and gpu).
darx55
i get 60(62 in far cry 2 with same settings) degrees in-game with pc probe 2
with core temp i get 55 degrees when playing far cry 2 with a combination of very high and high, resolution 1.024x726
so should i FINALLY calm down abot this or not......and i the future i will(i think) be buying a new fan for my tower, cause one of them isn't blowing uot enough air(that's what my dad says,i donna what to say...........)
