This is the punishment you receive for following a corrupt Japanese console maker. I probably don't need to mention the troubles Sony have been giving us PCGamers recently, with exploding Laptop batteries and faulty DVD drives. 10million batteries recalled was it? Hmph, more than PS3's sold before 2010 if you ask me. For all i care, Sony can go to hell. The only products they do well are Audiovisual equipment. Even then they seem to be failing at the moment. Their big, huge INSANELY heavy MP3 players are appauling and have pathetic, annoying monotone displays. Adios Sony.
"Microsoft doesn't make attack ads like Apple does, they don't have to. They let their system speak for itself. Too bad Apple can't and has to resort to such an underhanded method. Apple still stole their GUI from Xerox." Well said! That's exactly the point! Apple have to try and justify themselves for having such a USELESS OS, by making out their security is better. Lemme just say something here: Apple computers have NO security. Reason? Because noone can bothered to create Viruses and hacks for a computer system only 2% of the world uses :P
There are so many new and improved features in Windows Vista, i just don't know where to begin. Even the Home Basic version, which i upgraded my Laptop to, has a phenomenal range of new features and everything you knew in XP, has been upgraded and polished further. For a start, Vista is NOT exceptionally demanding. I am running the Basic version with 512MB of RAM and a 1.6Ghz Pentium M CPU and an integrated Intel GMA900 graphics card, but it STILL runs perfectly smooth and load/operation times are actually, believe it or not, FASTER than Windows XP was! The coding in Vista is very sound, i've noticed very few bugs, and the new Aero theme is awesome. The new instant search feature is fantastic, it really speeds things up for me, i don't need to look up a document or program, i just type what it's called in :D Vista's performance with games is perfectly acceptable, i think i lose a few fps over XP with some games and i gain a few fps with more recent titles. Certainly it's nothing to worry about and almost every single one of my games works 100% :) It is now a genuine PLEASURE to use Windows on my Laptop computer :D
Of course they're mucking up the console's release...they're sony!! Mucking up is their friend! They just had to face 6 million Sony Batteries returned to them because they were dodgy!
"As for those of us in the industry, we're already moving or have moved to Linux (using Wine for games) and will all but abandon WIndows (Vista or otherwise) except for using it to fix customers' machines. Adios, Billy-boy. " Ha! Thats a laugh! I work "in the industry" and where i work everyone spits on Linux because of it's total uselessness. I believe once we tried using Linux on the Server PC's, and it just mucked up completely because of lack of driver support from the hardware companies! Windows XP is perfect for everything and as long as it's kept patched up with updates is as secure as you will ever need it to be. On the topic of Vista, it has been confirmed that recent, modern and future games will run fine, and they will, if Age of Empires 1 works fine! Vista is going to be so refreshing, since a new OS hasn't come out for so long. Where i work, they have a beta2 of it, and it all looks very promising and it seems stable enough even on older hardware! I look forward to it's release!
