If that website didn't have a completely different colour scheme than the one in images going around, I wouldn't have believed you.

But I guess I do. (as your pics have an obvious grey, low-end-ui-like background)

[QUOTE="Gamerzk"]

I heard there were some problems, are there still problems when the game uses global servers?(like warhawk)

I am thinking of buying warhawk from the US PS store or importiong it.

thanks...if i get good information i might add it to my thread(dunno why it didn't work out) and BUMP it. I feel information about importing(PS3) is hard to find, and i see too many useless threads (like this one?lol).

thanks!

AgentH

Import and have fun. I did the same with R6V and didn't have any problems except for the known online issues of R6V that have nothing to do with importing or global servers.

Yup, but didn't R6V have P2P multiplayer, not server based multiplayer? (and I'm also pretty sure that this is what spawned most of the known problems for it)

Not every PS3 game has a server based online architecture.

Anyhow - I'm worried about downloading it from the US store as well... I wonder if anyone has some cash they're willing to gamble. (we cant really ask sony because we're not really supposed to be downloading from other stores to begin with - perhaps someone can ask an import question, I guess)

The difference between this and the 20GB vs 60GB skew comparison is the 60GB has everything the 80GB does -20GB and Motorstorm (for the first 100,000 people). The 80GB is now only for those who don't know any better - which extends to the way which shop clerks will market it.

So the choice for the modern consumer is nowhere near what it used to be - would YOU buy the 80GB? Prob not.

Thus, the PS3 = $500.

I always missed "DualShock 3" as the name of this controller.

It'd be a nice touch, honestly - "sixaxis" and "axis" in general is wearing on me.

[QUOTE="Pariah_001"]It happened to a friend of mine. Apparently a couple of clamps melted and dropped some stuff on the board. Weird.
farrell2k

The clamps are either aluminium of steel in the 360. Do you have any idea how much temp is required to melt either of these two metals?

It isn't the clamps themselves, but the solder holding them there - that solder can have MP anywhere between 200 and 600 degrees depending on how cheap MS is.

They probably gave the VF5 team a elite squad of MS online coders to get the job done. They probably didn't have the resources to do it alone.

Raidea

Thats assuming it can actually be done. All signs still point to "no" as any ping of >300 is waaaay too much when it comes to VF - especially given that VF is all about being arcade perfect.

The only places I can see being able to VF effectively online are JP and Korea.

So yes, I agree with MS "forcing" (aka - paying) Sega to getting it to go over XBL, and chances are you'll see the results of this in reviews once it hits.

As for continual bad news - things have been turning around for the past couple of months, aside from a couple of not-too-much-looked-forward-to-multiplats-anyhow-s.

Most, if not the vast majority, of us are absolutely fine with Warhawk, LAIR and Uncharted as our Murderer's Row this year's end.

after the hit it's taken this quarter from the 3 red lights repeair reimbursedment i don't think they'll lower the price until they can recover from the 1 billion dollar hit they tookRagashahs

They've taken quite a hit on returned 360s to this day, given, but that ///estimated/// $1 billion should be taken with a grain of salt. They are going to be changing the manufacturing process of the 360 to 65nm either this year or next and the moment that happens, there will be few to no red rings on new 360s. (just google xbox 360 + 65nm)

So chances are they're actually only going to lose $100~200 million, not $1 billion.

More importantly, if the PS3 only drops this $100 (I'm beginning to suspect / hope it'll be 100 until the 5 blue-rays thing ends, then 150/200) - then the ball is in MS's court. If they take even $50 off across the board, then they've got Sony on the ropes this generation (until those huge, hopefully exclusive *** games come out).

Finally, to put this in perspective, a $100 price drop still leaves the PS3 $30 above the Elite. Further more, if MS drops that, they'll be up to $100 above the elite. Looking at the games, no average consumer will go for the PS3 rather than the 360 at that stage.

So yes, lets just hope - for Sony's sake - that they play this a tad smarter. (if only to keep things under wraps better so the competition doesn't get a preemptive opportunity)

Are you serial? Man, if it could, the PS3 would totally be able to replace my DVD payer. I guess not...

And I guarantee they will not add Divx support especially since Sony owns a movie studio and all movies from Bittorent are in Divx or Xvid.Nickman71

You can use a DLNA program such as Nero MediaHome to transcode the files while streaming it to your PS3. (ie - it appears on your PS3 just like WMP11 does, but when you stream files over, Nero will convert them to a format which the PS3 can 'read' while streaming).

There are better programs for this, but I forgot their names.

I'm pretty sure either you or joystik is confused on that one.

It reportedly has the Touch Sense technology - which isn't touch sensitivity, but a new form of rumble which allows the rumbling to emanate from differing points within the controller.

... plus - why on earth would anyone want touch sensitivity on a controller?

[QUOTE="CossackNoodle"]Lol omg you linked 3 games does that now = all 360 titles will load faster for the life of the PS3? GAMES ARE COMING OUT WHERE IT NEVER LOADS AGAIN KrazyKenKutarag

I would love to know the name of game that never needs to load again, care to tell me?

He's confused - however, streaming in general is coming to games at large - including GTA4. So we'll see how the hard drive effects performance on that (and which code set is more efficient, given the bucket of money MS has dumped on T2 to 'help' them deliver)
