completely off topic but what the hell is the point of that damn touchpad? it's one of the stupidest designs ever to put it in the middle of the controller BEHIND the sticks. how are you going to reach the damn thing with your thumbs? who's going to free a hand to get to it and use such a puny thing? if you want my analysis on the pricing just scroll down...

@DarkAztaroth @aniforprez considering the facts that this time specifications are pretty competitive with those of pc, they want to put up a streaming service for ps3 games, they added a social networking aspect, they want to add support for the move etc, i think it's still pretty expensive overall. all speculation anyways.

i really don't think 300$ is anywhere even close to what they're planning. definitely not 600$ but remember at 600$ sony was still MAKING A LOSS. and don't forget their ps3 division has made the 1.5 BILLION in losses. so much that they had to merge it with another division just so we wouldn't know exactly how much loss the ps3 was making. if they sell it at 300$ they might as well throw their hat in the air and walk out the building naked cause they'll have to sell all their clothes. i'd say 450$ for a base version and 500$ for more HDD space. these specs are NOT cheap and they are riding the entire financial security of their company on this. in hindsight their press conference was bullshit since almost all the games announced were either ports or uninteresting exclusives (killzone and knack??). they were quick to show specs first since after 7 years of crap, we're waiting for something more powerful. sony's riding that wave and the social aspects to try and sell this better rather than add more gimmicks and gameplay elements which would require more research and money.

@surppo uh, in my country the maximum available bandwidth is 4 mbps...

it's not just the us or atlanta that's buying consoles. even the 4 mbps i mentioned is only in major metro cities. where i live i get 1 mbps and i was lucky. most of my friends have 512 kbps. if they want to expand to my country with millions of potential buyers they better not require constant internet connections and streaming services. since nintendo hates my country, xbox and ps3 have dominated the market here. they'll potentially lose all that.

@ceromaster @Verenti This argument has been parroted many times and it's a really stupid argument. Simply keeping it there means people are bound to buy it at some point or the other which makes the company money which means they are encouraged to put such features in future titles. Leeching people of further cash after having paid a full price for a game is unacceptable.

@WillyWynn it may not be scary but that in no way makes it awful. it's an excellent action game with great shooting, mechanics and the weapon customisation is neat.

@Deathfish69165 @LesserAngel @northArrow actually i disagree. MTs may have been for pay-2-win games in the past but right now they can be seen as purely cosmeic and UNNECESSARY portions developed by the art teams as coders do their job. DLC on the other hand is to sell ADDED CONTENT like features and gameplay and further campaign objectives. there is no set definition of either but currently, this is what they stand for. DLC isn't just art assets. DLC adds features which were unable to make the final cut because of time constraints etc. thisgame is going to milk everyone from both avenues because features like mass transit variety, farms, terraforming and the fatal city size will most likely be DLC and since the buildings all look so shitty, they'll milk you from MTs to buy better city art styles

i haven't checked the prices myself and not played the beta but if the city sizes in the video are final and the price is 64.99.. **** NO. not only is that a RIDICULOUS price for a dumbed down version of a game made awesome by modders, it's missing so many features they're going to milk every penny from you using worthless dlc and microtransactions. no fucking way. EA truly is evil in it's quest for the greens. take a page out of ubisoft. far cry 3 and assassin's creed have more content than just 60$ worth
