@YoungCardinal @Ratatoskr321 @pathosfire Simcity 4 has probably the greatest mod support of any EA game ever. They shut down the forums but modders simply made a brand new site and it's thriving.

Plus, like, WTF? Video games discs are not (obviously) biodegradable and contain loads of harmful chemicals. Burning them is an environmental hazard and anyone who breathes the fumes is going to have more problems than they had to begin with.

This is like those old pre-Renaissance days when people burnt books en masse. It was ignorance and foolishness that drove them to doing that. I can't imagine in the 21st century people actually resorting to burning stuff even if it's just to prove a point. They just want something to lash out at and they consider it to be violent video games with complete disregard for the lack of proof.

@Pie_FOREVER really? out of all the devs i felt he was the biggest moron. the others were intelligent and had plans and kept deadlines. this jackass had no plan, no goals, no steps, he was sailing blind the whole way. it's a wonder the game even got made and it still had problems. if MS hadn't taken pity and forgiven him for all the missed deadlines, he'd probably have committed suicide like he said.

@---Cipher--- @IBEX333 you're wrong on the map front. calculations clearly confirm that the map size is 28-35 kms square so since it's (a third) of 100, it's perfectly acceptable to advertise as between 100-400. *sarcasm*

i'm not a guy who's going to harp on how great overstrike was or any such shit. i know that's not going to happen so i'll leave it at that.

but this game looks so goddamn generic and repetitive it makes me weep. the great and magical fuse weapons don't seem to add ANYTHING to the gameplay. it's just gears of war with less muscly guys and 4-player co-op with an option to switch. he stealth is generic, the shooting is generic, the enemy spawns and levels are generic, i mean this seems more generic than it actually is simply because of the promise it held. i'm only saying this based off a single gameplay video but it does nothing to impress me.

it might actually turn out great but right now it looks really bad.

terrible ai? it's PUNISHING. you make a tiny mistake and they will hunt you down and **** you up.

worst graphics? on all the platforms metal gear solids were released, they were considered pioneers in graphics. mgs 4 had the best graphics of any game released at the time except for uncharted.

silly storytelling? it has probably the best written story in a game (though ridiculously convoluted) and the cutscenes are really well directed.

completionist. most definitely. i aggressively look for quests and npcs to talk to and first time i finished fallout 3, i realised i had only finished half the quests. i had to go back and do the other quests at least once to feel satisfied. i haven't started skyrim so no idea how bad my ocd will be. one funny thing happened in wow when i was just starting the game, while my friends had left their respective starting areas, i was still in mine aggressively trying to finish all the quests. i didn't feel like dropping annything even though they all fit to maybe 3 different types.
