I'm thinking of getting one to replace my 8800gts g92. I have heard that a 4890 is about the max for a PCI-E 1.0.

I think I'll go with the 1900gt and add a cooler if I need to it would still be in my budget with a $30 cooler. Thanks for your input guys.

I need to replace my x1600xt, and I'm a poor college student so I have about $120 to spend. My other specs are c2d 2160 @2.8ghz, and 2gb of ram. I do have a decent 500 wattfsb psu with 36a on 2 12v rails. If there is a power hungry bargain card. I just want to play Crysis, HG:L, and UT3 very well on my 27 in lcd tv @1366x768.Thanks guys

Wait, do you mean a 10 column mobo connector, so it actually has 20 pins? If you have a 20pin mobo connector but a 24 pin mobo then that will not give your system power. Most PSUs have a 20+4 pin setup, where there are the 10 columns then 2 extra ones that are off to the side you plugin if necessary, like this one.

EDIT: Glad you figured out the problem. Take that thing back to the store in the morning and have fun with your comp.

that is the way I had it setup with the two connectors. I'm almost positive now that this PSU is doa. I have all the LED in the right place and still nothing.

What kind of PSU do you have? Try to stay calm and not freak out, it'll all be ok.Zaber123
An FSP fortron or something. It has duel 12v rails so I thought that was all I needed to have. It only has 10 pin conector for the mobo. It takes a 12 but someone told me that did not matter. I'm starting to think they were full of it

Crap my psu says compatible with athlon xp and p4 in the manual. I have a p35 chipset, and an e6600. Is that why? I should have done more homework maybe?
