Rpg Maker XP Review

Yet another review!
This time it's a review of RPG Maker XP for Personal Computers.

This is not a game! This is a great tool that lets you create your own Role Playing Games!!! Rpg Maker XP is a fantastic tool that lets you create your own Role Playing Games, this tool can be used by those who has no experience in scripting and game development but it still allows them to create great role-playing games, but if you can script Ruby, then you can create your fully customizable games with custom menus, effects, battle systems and stuff!

I used this great tool a lot, and I have created many cool games with it... The cool thing about RMXP is that you can share this game with everyone, even if they don’t have RMXP runtime installed on their computer, unlike RPG Maker 3 for the PS2 system which didn't allow you to share your games, unless you lend someone your memory card. And that sucks! But with you RMXP you can share your games, there is no size limit, you can voice cast every character, burn it on a cd, give it to your friends, sell it , put it on your website, the possibilities are unlimited!!

If you would to create your own RPG I recommend that you use your own Tiles and not the one that was included on the RPG Maker XP cd. But if you can’t create your own sprites you can always find many on the internet.

The only bad thing about RMXP is that it does not support avi videos unlike Rpg Maker 2003.

Metal Gear Acid Review

This time i wrote a review of the great game Metal Gear Ac!d! For the PSP system ;)

Metal Gear Ac!d is one of my favorite PSP games, the graphics are fantastic, soundtrack is really great, the story is not the perfect one, but the missions are fun…

Many people have been disappointed by MGA, because of the card battle system, but I was not disappointed by it, I simply love it! I have played all Metal Gear games, from the old ones on the good old’ MSX system to MGS3 on PS2 and I can tell you that Metal Gear was always about Tactics not Action! And this is exactly what this game most focuses on. The point of this game is not to kill most enemies, but it is to sneak around the levels and not be seen, use your weapon only in critical situation.

The only thing that I didn’t like was the bad story and the comic like cutscene’s and no voice casting L

But missions are fun to do and I didn’t care much about the story, my goal was to get all the cards in my huge collection!

Of course if you have played Metal Gear Solid games on the PSone or PS2 on easy difficulty level, you won’t even understand what I’m talking about, because when playing on the easy difficulty level, you can simply shoot everyone and run away and don’t care bout your life level, but if you are playing on the Extreme difficulty level, you will precisely understand what I am talking about!

After playing MGA I got much better in MGS2 and MGS3 ;)

My Score: 8.7 (Great)
Gameplay 8/10
Graphics 10/10
Sound 10/10
Value 9/10
Tilt 8/10

Monster Hunter Freedom Review

I cant believe Gamespot gave this game only 6.5 points! This game is one of the best games on PSP up to date. I can't believe that gamespot gave it only 6.5 points, that’s not fair...
The graphics are great on the PSP up to date and the sound sounds incredibly great especially if you are playing with headphones that support Dolby Surround.
The story is not ideal but there are a lot of quests that you can do, many different types of equipment and weapons that you can modify later on in the game. There is a big variation of different monsters, everything from small dragons, to huge flying wyverns. The models seem to be filled with hundreds of polygons and very well animated.
The game also features some kind of a farm with several cat-like creatures that will take care of it while you are away, you can harvest crops on that farm, and you can mine and find different types of ore and metals (that you can later use to create weapons or armor), you can also catch fishes and gather bugs and mushrooms. And later in game you can upgrade your Kokoto farm and buy new plants and stuff, and that’s really cool!
Of course there are some down sides to, like: You cant rotate the camera while you are in the village or when you are inside buildings, but when you are on a quest you can rotate it diagonally and horizontally, you can also invert x and y axis if you feel uncomfortable with the default setting, and the most disappointing thing about Monster Hunter Freedom is that it does not have support for infrastructure gaming.. Of course you can play it with your friend via the AD-Hoc p2p connection.

And there is one very important thing to remember about this game if you are planning on buying it….
This is not the kind of game that you will play while riding the school bus, or in the school break.
Because the quest takes pretty long time to complete, something from 20 to 50 minutes. But you can still play it at home or when you’re taking a plane for a long distance (that’s what I will do soon ;)

I have never played original Monster Hunter for Playstation 2, but after playing Monster Hunter Freedom I sure will.

My Score: 9.6 (Superb)
Gameplay 9/10
Graphics 10/10
Sound 10/10
Value 9/10
Tilt 10/10

The best RPG for PS2!

Some months ago I was thinking that they don't make such good 'ol classic Role Playing Games like Final Fantasy 1-7, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire and Dragon Quest (Older Japanese Versions) anymore, But I was wrong, Dragon Quest VIII is the game that proves that Square Enix can still create masterpieces! The story is great but there's something that's missing, and that's Love (There's a lot of love in Final Fantasy games and that what makes FF to such a great game) , but still Dragon Quest VIII is fun to play, it will take you a lot of time to complete the game, because of all the side quests and stuff, you won't get tired of it after playing 4 or more hours, (I can play it all day! ;) , the music is just fantastic, (this is the first time I heard such a great soundtrack , since Final Fantasy 9!) Voice casting is also O.K.! Graphics: The graphics are great, the animations are smooth, and the whole game looks like an anime! Story: The story is as simple as it can be, but still are really great!! As I said before this is the best Role Playing Game for the PS2! This is a must have for PS2, this is the game and it is not worth 70 bucks! It's worth more that that! Buy the game and you won't regret this! P.S. Some people say that the random battles in Dragon Quest VIII are really annoying, but I don’t agree with them, I think it's really fun and when you are at high level it won't be difficult!

Windows Vista

I installed Windows Vista and it looks fabulous! The only bad thing is that I can't play TES IV Oblivion on it :( but that's probably because it's only Beta now! Windows Vista will be officially released at the end of this year! Now at least I know that my hardware supports it! P.S. I liked that 3D desktop effect!

Windows Vista BETA

I got Windows VISTA Official BETA 2 , BUILD 5270 from E-Bay today, and now i'm installing it on my "Microsoft Virtual PC 2004" (I'm doing it to make sure my hardware will support it)
I want to try Microsoft's new direct x 10 API! mmm ;)
I wonder how TES IV Oblivion will look like on it....

I will post updates later. (I'm sure it takes a lot of time to install it! specially on a Virtual PC)
