20k !

Yep, after all that intense grinding (and yes it was fun) I finally got past 20K achievement points. The hardest achievements were obviously those cod veteran levels and the most time consuming were the gears seriously and seriously 2.0 achievements. The easiest game was Fallout 3 by far. 1200 points in under a minute :P

360 review

8/10 - Not a flop, AA hype met.

Graphics - It's just about good enough. Games don't look ugly on my TV so it's exactly what I expected. I haven't seen anything that's jaw-dropping yet but I can let it slide.

Xbox Live - It works great for sports and racing games. I like how the system is unified so I can compare my stats with friends :) The voice chat system works very well but the sound quality can be really really bad at times.

Games -

1)FIFA 09 - Online play rocks ! The number of options is fantastic. Presentation is top-notch. Matchmaking is very fast and it's completely lag free :D It's the complete football package imho.

I'm on an 11 game winning streak !

With only 1 goal conceded 8)

2)Forza Motorsport 2 - It's a lot of fun to play but no cockpit view is a letdown. The career mode is very deep and trying to make perfect laps in the time trial mode is very addictive.

3)Halo 3 - Beating the campaign on heroic was actually fun. Online play is surprisingly smooth and there are a ton of options. I'm still not used to the controls but the gunplay is tight nonetheless.

Hong Kong Blog : Part 1

The shopping arcades for electronics are amazing. The prices are insane and the number of shops is crazy !

My personal favourite. An elite hermit club 8)

Console game prices aren't much cheaper than at home but I did buy a few region-free games and a live sub card (F*** you M$, online and dlc should be free). Oh and locals in Hong Kong are huge Sony fanboys. Each shop has 10x more PS3 and PSP games.

On the other hand, I found crazy deals for PC hardware ! 115usd for a 4850  PC monitors and speakers were really cheap too but theres no way I can carry them back

I'll post pics of the buildings, MTR and food in my next blog.

Goodbye Gamespot ! (Nude pics inside)

Now that I've fooled you into my blog  It's time to show off my brand new 360 !

Got Forza 2, Viva Pinata and FIFA 09 free.

Yes, CoH is still my favourite game :P and I'll continue to bash consoles on system wars 8)

My GOTY - And the Nominees are...

Crysis Warhead

In Crysis Warhead, players will don the Nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes, also known as 'Psycho', one of the most memorable characters from Crysis. More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, players will experience Psycho's parallel story during the events of the original game, finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined. Luckily, Psycho's Nanosuit is just as capable and he's equipped with an even bigger arsenal of fully customizable weapons and new vehicles, giving players access to the tools they need to dominate any situation.

Crysis Warhead is a parallel story to Crysis, one of the most critically-acclaimed first person shooters and PC games of 2007. The game is first title to be developed at Crytek's Budapest studio, and built on a new, enhanced and optimized version of Crytek's CryENGINE 2 technology.

Far Cry 2

Caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa, you are sent to take out "The Jackal", a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfil your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralise their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force.

Far Cry 2 immerses players in an entirely new kind of gaming experience, featuring a custom-made video game engine built from the ground up. Players discover a true open world gameplay set in Africa, brought to life by high-definition next-gen technology.

King's Bounty : The
Legend

King's Bounty: The Legend is an adventure game with tactical turn-based battles and role-playing elements. In a fairy tale fantasy world of fearless knights, evil mages, wise kings and beautiful princesses the player controls a hero. Leading their character through the game world, exploring it, commanding armies in battle and accomplishing various quests can mean great reward or huge defeats.

Gameplay is divided into two major sections: adventure mode and battle mode. While playing in adventure mode the gamer controls their character in real-time. With several ****s available at the start of a new game, the player moves through the adventure map seeking various treasures, fighting monsters and accomplishing quests tasked to him by the local stewards. Once in battle mode the gamer assumes the role of a war chief, leading his troops in tactical turn-based combat. Battles take place on land or sea, in dungeons or castles or even in some items! The hero himself doesn't participate in the combat, but can assist his troops by casting spells or summoning different creatures.

Left 4 Dead

Setting out to do for co-op gaming what Counter-Strike did for team combat, Left 4 Dead is an ambitious survival horror game. Running on the Source engine, Left 4 Dead leaves four armed survivors of a world overrun with zombies, and they must fight their way out to escape the outbreak.

Designed for co-op play, the four players must work together to finish each stage of the game, lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them. In addition to the standard four players as humans, another four players can be amongst the masses of assaulting zombies, seeking to take down the other players. Zombie players might even find themselves become one of the four mutant "boss" zombies, who have unique powers that can be used to devastate, injure, tie up, mark and track, confuse, or even humiliate the gun-toting human survivors.

Red Alert 3

Return to the Red Alert continuity of the esteemed Command & Conquer RTS franchise in this full-fledged series sequel. Red Alert 3 breaks new ground in the RTS genre, featuring a fully co-operative campaign while bringing back the series' light-hearted ****and ****c, action-oriented gameplay.

In Red Alert 3, the desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.
