I just started doing this. I have regular vga connected to my 46in lcd and have optical wire for surround sound from my PC to receiver. World in conflict is something else. I plan on getting end war i think it will be better on PC than the 360. And i also believe that your Rig is good, I have the c2d e6700 with the 8800gt so we are pretty even. I would rather build a new PC if I am looking for a new rig rather than update it even though you would save money.Myzz617

I agree. Crysis on my 46" Bravia was out of this world even though the framerate wasnt all that great.Combine that with the surround sound and you can even hear anyone sneaking up from behind you:lol:

Although i'm a pc gamer i say go for ps3. Your pc is already good enough. Get a ps3 for some of its exclusives save some money and in 3,4 months when the new nvidia gt300 and Ati5xxx vga's come out upgrade your pc thenadamosmaki

I doubt I will be able to save money for a new card in just 3,4 months:P

Dogswithguns, all that can be done with a PC as well. I do it myself with a DVI to HDMI cable to my HDTV and single RCA cable drom my digital output(CPU) to my receiver.

Thats exactly why I am tempted to buy a PS3. I am missing some of its great exclusives like you have mentioned. inFamous looks freakin awesome(best superhero game till date according to me) and with games like GOW3, FFXIII, Uncharted 2 to follow, I am left to tear my hair out for still not possessing a PS3. Its the cost that is stopping me.

2012....that seems awfully short (considering that I have to spend 400$:?) though I have to agree that its too much to expect for a console to last more than 5 years. Yeah my rig can still run any game at decent settings but the processor is getting old plus the GPU is not all that great.

I have been a loyal PC gamer for the past 10 years but have also owned both of Sony's previous consoles. Now I am having a tough time in deciding whether to buy a PS3 which has some fantastic exclusives right now like inFamous, Killzone2, etc not to mention the constant flow of games unlike PC gaming which has suffered to an extent due to developers being wary of pirates OR upgrade my Rig which has the following specs

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

4GB DDR2 RAM

Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 512 MB DDR3 RAM

750GB Hard disk Space

OS:Windows Vista 64 bit

I am a student and hence have money constraints. I can go only for one: either a PS3 or upgrading rig. Also how long do you think will be PS3's longevity for gaming?

It seems that connect my graphic card to my sound card through SPDIF for transmitting the sound through HDMI cable. Now I have a new problem. How to I get the audio from my TV to my receiver?

I have a 20m HDMI cable with which I want to connect my PC(bedroom) to my LCD(in drawing room). Will this cable be able to carry the signal to my LCD without any disturbance? i have not tried connecting this yet as my LCD will arrive next month. Also I would like to know if the sound from my PC will be carried through the cable to the LCD. The LCD that I will be getting is a Sony Bravia W series 46" and my graphic card is a Geforce 9600 GT. Thanks in advance!

I have an Intel C2D E6600. I have not heard of hardware taking up memory before. I googled my problem and I have to enable memory hole remapping in my BIOS but I cant seem to find this feature in my BIOS. Maybe a BIOS update as I said before?
