Here's my take on this. I have never met a game seller worth his weight in 7-Eleven Big Gulps and microwave burritos in well over a decade. Aside from looking up release schedules, I generally find them to be useless at discussing game titles except to give a brief synopsis that can be obtained from spending 5 minutes on Google. I used to be able to have in depth conversions with game sellers about specific game developers by name. Granted, there's just too many games to track. In any case, the guy was only speculating. Nothing he said was punishable. Had he sold an Xbox 360 on an ability to play Blu-Ray, that would be another matter.

hey peeps im just curious to see what people have and stuff :)

piemister

PS3, PSP, Nintendo DS, Xbox, PSTwo, Super Nintendo, NES, Colecovision, Atari 7800, Intellivision, Atari VCS, Amiga CDTV, and an old Pac-Man handheld. I love to play.

The PS3 and my Atari VCS are my favorites. I love my Xbox for just: GTA Vice City, Splinter Cell, JSRF, and NSFU2, and Otogi 2. I disliked my PS2 for a long time, and I'm only now really enjoying it. Colecovision was always cool. I like my PSP more than my DS, although the DS has better (and more) games.

1. I finally got around to playing Resistance. I've been putting in several hours a day on my PS3, not just playing games but also listening to music, watching movies, and going through a few hundred digital photographs in a slideshow. I had one error in that time related to my connection timing out while at the online store. No crashes, no outright freezes. And of course, no frightening red failure light. 2. No lag at all. Resistance online gets pretty intense because of the number of participants. Performance moving between screens at the Playstation online store was a little slow, but we're talking a couple of milliseconds. 3. My PS3 is pretty quiet, on an order of a magnitude quieter than my PS2 after a while of usage. I believe it is quieter than the 360. That said, in a very quiet room, you can hear the PS3 if it's been active for a while. It'll sound like there's a small fan running. Good luck considering your purchase. I love my PS3, and I happen to use all of its features with the except of the PSN messaging.

As a PSTwo owner, do I have any MMORPG options? I know Final Fantasy Online is out of the question because of the lack of the HDD, but could a USB hard drive fix this? Are there any MMORPGs that don't require an HDD?

I own the PSP. Gaming-wise, it is very much an extension of the gaming experience you get on your PS2. There are just a few PSP games worth noting that don't have an equivalent on PS2, so you must ask yourself whether you want a new gaming experience or just a portable version of the gaming experience you already get now. I want portability, and I love my PSP; but I use it mostly as a digital photo album, movie player, and then as a gaming system for two superior releases of Worms and Lemmings.

If you want a new gaming experience, and you've already exhausted all PS2 has to offer, then you need to be thinking 360 vs PS3 vs Wii. You don't need HDTV for 360 or Wii. PS3 really needs it, or so I've been told by owners. Think about what exclusive games 360 has right now and what are coming. If you want to play those, get a 360. If the exclusives don't thrill you, then you should think about 360 vs PS3. 360 is a very good system. It's not gimmicky anymore than the PS3 is, and Xbox Live subs do prefer that online gamng environment to that of the PS2.

Unless you get the full system, the cost of building up piecemeal from an Xbox 360 Core system will run you above the cost of the full system. The PS3 does offer more features for your money, and it has some nice exclusives of its own. Good luck.

I'm not in Canada, but my understanding is that PS3 component cables are the same used on the PS2.
You'll have to confirm this yourself, but maybe you found some but passed them over because they were
advertised as being made for PS3?

I love Worms Open Warfare. It's a fun game you can keep going back to for mindless arcade joy, and I've been playing Worms for years.

Splinter Cell. When it comes to games with an espionage theme, I prefer the harsher realism you would get in a Robert Ludlum or Tom Clancy novel. Metal Gear Solid, as fun as it is, plays a little too fantastic for me.

My favorite game overall is probably GTA: Vice City or Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. But for Xbox exclusives, either Otogi 2 or Jet Set Radio Future. I love the artistic style of both.

As much as the mechanics in GTA annoy me, and as bad as the graphics can get, I love GTA. I really like free-roaming. I spend a lot of time just driving around in the same car just getting immersed in the environment (especially in Vice City). This is where the game really works. In Vice City, I love driving down the strip at near dawn while listening to the Jan Hammer Miami Vice theme. No, I'm not running around stealing cars and shooting pedestrians; and maybe if I were I'd get really tired of the franchise. That said, my dream is a driving game of PGR2 and Forza caliber that let's me drive through a real city environments and countrysides with pedestrians and stop lights as in GTA and Midtown Madness through random weather, and listening to good music. I could do that for hours so I'm wierd.
