Gimmicks-Playstation move, Xbox Kinect, PSVR. I see plenty of gimmicks with Sony and MS.

Games-All depends on what you like. If you love Nintendo's first party franchises, then the Switch is a must-buy, (but not so much on 3rd party support).

@inkman66: What do you mean the Switch cannot compete with the PS4 and XBone? Do you just mean on a specs level?

Pretty sure the last few Nintendo consoles have not competed on a technical level with Sony and Microsoft's consoles, but have still done just fine.
