@hystavito: Oh I have no doubt that they'd be criticized by modern gamers and gaming media alike. I did say I felt both games didn't age well after all.
I still own both original games for the Dreamcast and Xbox, and it's of my opinion that neither has aged very well; but I feel that these games absolutely need to be re-released for modern audiences/consoles. What Yu Suzuki set out to do with Shenmue was so ahead of it's time and nothing short of influential on modern open world games.
The Master Chief Collection was my disappointingly rough introduction to the Xbox One. My earliest memories of the console thanks to this game are having to constantly powercycle whenever it froze and waiting forever to never find online matches. I'm still under the belief that it was the fiasco behind this that lead to the Gears of War Ultimate Edition just being the first game and not a complete trilogy.
