Beans, beans, good for your heart, the more you eat, the more you fart.
Words to live by.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but surely when GS does a review, they have the superior internal tech support to ensure that a review that criticizes tech issues is not unjustified.
On the other hand, how many times have you read the user reviews for a game whereby every other user gives it a 9.0, and the ones in between give it a 1.0? 9 times out of 11 (10) you can bet your biffy the nay-sayers are basing their judgements on issues relating to the stability of a game, and this ends up giving an innacurate picture of the overall quality of a game for those that value the user input more than the opinions of one GS employee, which is in and of itself not without merit.
Yet more often than not, the tech issues that home users are experiencing are due to technical incompetence, emulators that they don't realize are causing problems, overclocking, etc...
This is very unfortunate, and I'm not quite sure it can be rectified without corruption of democracy, but all should be aware of such statistical deviations nonetheless.

I agree.
Me too. Condemned: Criminal Origins and Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth are waaay scarier than any of these games.
Doom 3, no, FEAR, no, but CoCDCotE yes, and C:CO sort of, but the Shalebridge Cradle mission in Thief 3 had me looking over my shoulder in my dark room, wondering if I could deal with it, even though the rest of the game was "whatever".
