yes i bought a wii u a few weeks ago after all the great upcoming nintendo titles have been announced. but i really don't get the idea behind the gamepad (for gaming, anything else like miiverse is not that interesting to me). pikmin 3 for example is mainly "look at your tv" -> "look at your gamepad". that seems just forced to me. already ordered a pro controller and still have my wiimotes, but some games seem to require the gamepad for singleplayer. wonderful 101 looks like the first game that really tries to use it, but i'll guess i will still prefer to use the analog stick instead of drawing.

honestly, everyone i ask about the wii u is irritated by the tablet-controller. everybody who is seeing it live is wondering how big it is and what's the advantage of it. even nintendo clearly doesn't know what to do with the second screen except for putting mini-maps/inventory on it. announced games aren't promoted with unique tablet-features. most likely because they won't have any. mario kart 8? i guess there will be a mini-map to see where your opponents are... smash bros.? most will play it on a pro controller anyway... nobody needs it, it's big, it lasts 3hrs until you have to charge it, no developer comes up with something useful. nintendo should release their big summer/autumn-update with pro-controller usabilty for the whole OS, no gamepad required, and should offer a new console-bundle with the pro-controller instead of the gamepad. maybe that's their plan, regarding how uninspired they are using it for their 1st-party games... in my opinion the gamepad is one of the biggest issues why nobody gets this console. and by ditching it, they could finally sell the wii u for like 100 bucks less. it would definitely sell when the great games are coming, the console would be cheaper and the gamepad won't be mandatory. the only positive thing about the gamepad seems to be the off-tv function, but that's just something that only a few people use or rely on. and for that use, the 3ds would be perfect to be the second screen/gamepad, just like sony will do it with the vita/ps4.
