Lol, unoptimized build. Also some facts for most of you guys; MP in Crysis will look just as good as SP - and in DX10 MP it will look even better than the DX10 SP, including all physics.lol @ unoptimized computer
Tell me, why would the be using an UNOPTIMIZED COMPUTER for a PROMO video?
Can anyone explain this?

[QUOTE="cobrax75"][QUOTE="agentfred"]I thought that was the revolutionary part of the game though. The scale and thus the freedom of movement was unlike anything we had seen before. I thought the level design was great.PS3_3DO
that recent 1up preview said that the crysis level they played was by far the biggest and most open level they had ever seen in a video game.
So that means you are going to need at least 2gigs of Ram to play Crysis maybe even more. :o I bet 360 could do about at least half of that level.
I'm doing fine with 1gb in the beta.[QUOTE="PS3_3DO"]So I finally beat Far Cry last night and I got to admit the level design was very bad. I am glad I got it free because I wouldn't pay $5 for that game. The enemies were bad too. I can't believe hermits say Halo and Halo 2 has bad level design after playing Far Cry.So unless Crytek has learned from their mistakes from Far Cry I can say Crysis isn't going to be any better in level design. Also I hope there isn't any jumping Aliens in Crysis.

levels are a console phaenomenon...because of their pathetic ram crysis will have free roaming huge world not some pathetic levels...
Crysis does have levels.[QUOTE="Wasdie"]The A.I. in Crysis is second to none. The open ended, destructable enviroments make the A.I. in the game shine. They always flank, they always work as a team. They run and retreat, regroup, attack with numbers and with stratagy. The player needs to fight this relentless A.I.

Better than FEAR?
According to the press, without a doubt. This is what really has me excited about Crysis - the realistic and intense combat, that affectively adapts to your play style; which is why the nano-suit is critical.I love threads like this, becuase it's sad but true. Halo is just a big fish in a little pond, and it enjoys it's stranglehold on that pond. If you give stale bread to a starving nation, they will praise and love you forever. Just wait untill Halo 3 drops on the PC, we know what stale bread tastes like, and we want our Thanksgiving dinner thank you very much.MadsucktionPost of the day.
Post of the hour. You named the topic after your opinion that Crysis doesn't look great. Then, in your first post, you detail how "looking great" is all Crysis has going for it. Then you back up your claim with the fact that you haven't played it.
In summary, ladies and gentlemen:
- Crysis does not look great.
- Crysis looks great.
- You don't need to play games to judge them.

Don't judge a two minute clip of beta footage (especially when it's not the main MP mode) that could be only high settings, or maybe very high - but there is still ultra high, and last but not least, DX10. Also, AF and AA are off.
The beta is really fun and runs better than BF2; while looking better - at least on my rig. I also enjoy it more than BF2.
Lol, do you even know the meaning of revolutionary?Mario in the beggings it was pretty revolutionary compared to other games at that time.
FF7 sort off made the jrpg standards
Mario 64, set the standards of platform 3D games
OOT, revolutionized the 3D adventure games
Halo, did pretty great for console FPS
Half Life 2 (imo) revolutionized FPS on PC
Starcraft and Warcraft both revolutionized RTS
Gran Turismo revolutionized the racing genre
GTA 3 + which pretty much everyone knows was revolutionnary
