there seems to be an endless stream of sequels with very little innovation and an increasing focus on multiplayer and "social gaming" *shudders. it's disappointing to see developers hell bent on removing all the idiosyncrasies that made games great originally just to pander to the teen COD market who have the attention span of a knat.

there's not been much in the past year that i've really enjoyed. hopefully in the second half of 2013 things will pick up

U spelled gnat wrong but besides that i think u r generally right. Multiplayer is taking precedent over singleplayer and sometimes that means that the games are more focused on the casual gamers that u were referencing

That's insane...ly awesome, what's the process? how can you make something like that? want it in my city.DanielDust
I have had it in mine u need to build a building partially on a hill, the game levels the land that the building is on out. But sometimes it glitches and raises a mountain where the building is. If the building is deleted the hill also goes

Last week I was at my local store wanting to buy Simcity, now that the launch troubles are all over, but to my surprise it was all sold out. I think the game is still selling well and don't forget a lot of casuals play Simcity too and they don't all look at reviews to have known about the terrible DRM.

[QUOTE="CMNatic"]This is when I start to feel sorry for the coders, they get the blame for the failure when it's actually the smart nugget who came up with it. R4gn4r0k

Agreed, such a shame but the idiot that came up with this DRM will never get fired. Other people will.

EA has done a good job controlling the supply of SimCity. They stopped selling it on Amazon originally and other cd keys online have been in short supply. So they have managed to keep the price up even though there have been many problems.

Does the game actually work?

chrisrooR

Yes, though how well is subject to opinion.  It works fine for me and I enjoy it, but there are others on here who act as though this game marks the rise of the antichrist or something.

It works in a superficial way. Sometimes. But underneath the 'pretty' there's a ton of design bugs that really waste whatever potential the game did have.

The game works very well, there are almost no bugs. Do u have the game or do u just listen to what other people say?

I think that it is a waste of time and money. There are also much better things that u could do with ur friends. However most things u do in ur spare time could be considered a "waste of time" so if it works for u in the end it doesn't really matter

Mercenaries, one mission defend a town with really weak NPCs, u have to make sure all like 9 of them survive after getting attacked from every direction
