I recently began adamantly collecting volumes of Inuyasha (the manga i mean....), and it has really turned into an obsession! I was on the fence when it came to manga for a long time, but I finally took the plunge, and im glad that I did! I knew I would like Inuyasha because ive been watching the anime adamantly for a year now. Its cool to see the story in its original context, and I love the artwork. At the end of each volume there is an editors recommendation page, and as I was reading that I discovered an interesting looking series from the creator of Inuyasha (Rumiko Takahashi), called Maison Ikkoku. It seemed there was a consensus that this was her best work, so I wanted to check it out. I bought volume one the other day, and im glad that I did! Maison Ikkoku is about the residents of an apartment house in modern day Japan. Its not action oriented like Inuyasha, but its hilarious and sweet, and its just a great story in general. It was a reminder that this art form is about more then intense fight sequences, and I cant wait to read more! I highly recommend this series to all you manga fans out there:) Im still new to manga, but I think this will surely become one of my favorites!
