@Wraith3: We're very much on the same page on the gun issue. I'm a gun owner too, and proud to be one.
All I'm saying is there are sooooo many people that play FPSs that it only makes sense that some of them would have ended up being a mass killer. That doesn't mean there's any causation. At least I've yet to hear of or find anything to support the claim that there is a direct causation. The only things like that I remember were some scare pieces back in the 90s that never found a conclusive link. It was only something like "Ooh we found a copy of Wolfenstien in the killers house, scary."
@Wraith3: "Several of the last mass shootings in the U.S. had the killer reportedly playing FPS games."
That's about as significant as the killer having eating at McDonald's for lunch. Literally tens of millions of people play FPSs. And you don't even see a tiny sliver of a percentage of that turn to real shootings. Statistically speaking there is no significant correlation to speak of.
The first was entertaining and unique if a bit shallow, overall I had a lot of fun with it. I would definitely like to pick this one up soon, though with Gears 4 and Battlefield I'm stuck in a first world problem of not knowing which to get.
The price range will entirely depend on the specs and features. Without that info, there really isn't much to go on.
But if I had to wager a guess with nothing to go on I'd say somewhere in the $300-350 range. If it's much higher than that they'll price them selves out of the casual market.
I'm not one for gimmicky consoles but I'll be keeping an open mind about this until release. There are several big questions such as cost, power, and third-party support, that'll have to be answered before passing judgment.
Good to see the competition seems to be heating up. It'll be interesting to see if this becomes a continuing trend or a temporary sales boost for the X1. The closer the sales race, the better for consumers.
