I think im going to go with 360 because it is cheaper and I can play Forza 2 and PGR3 right now. If the full GT5 was out or was even coming out in a few months I would go with PS3 but seeing as how its not going to be out until 2009 that's just not cool. I want to play games now. Not buy a console and have to wait a year.

Thanks for the input though and I do like the PS3 a lot, just wish it had more racing games.

I would go PS3 for MLB 08 the show, there are also plenty of good driving games on PS3 now such as Dirt, NFS: Pro Street, GranTurismo Prologue, F1, Motorstorm, etc..

One thing the PS3 has a big advantage over X360 is that the PS3 works with industry standard accessories, while the X360 you have to use proprietary X360 accessories. Since you are into racing games you probably already have a wheel that will work with PS3. See my signature I'm using the Logitech G25. Not possible on X360.

Lol, the guy with the $250 steering wheel advising the guy with the budget games signature. That's funny.

Just so you know my sig is about making a statement, not being cheap. I could afford to buy games at full price but choose not too because I think they are over priced and I want to make a statement to the game makers. Their profits have gone way up, some games make more than some movies even though movies cost way, way more to make. Yet game prices are a lot higher than movies and have not come down at all.

But I dont want this thread to be about this.

^^^^^^

Well most of the other games I will get are out for both. Yes I will get GTA4 after the prices come down on used copies on ebay. They should come dow in a few weeks. But I can play that on either one. I did like PGR2 a lot even though its more of an arcade so PGR3 is another one in 360s favor. Then I will just get a lot of other games like, madden, FIFA, Tiger Woods, MotoGP 08, Fight Night 3, ....

I have already played DiRT, NFSPS on PC and thought they were terrible. I wouldnt even want them for 360 if I get it.

Yeah right now the only game that is really calling me on PS3 is MLB 08 The Show. I have always been a Forza guy, and I gknow GT5 will be amazing but they dont even have a release date yet, and I could be playing Forza 2 now. I could try to play MLB 2k8 on 360 but I know its really, really bad. I played MLB 2k6 on my Xbox 1 and it was just terrible.

How is MLB The Show on PSP? Maybe I could get a used 360 and a used PSP for the price of a new PS3?

Honestly man? if you like sports and racing games...it's kinda a toss up.

Let me ask you this. If you bought a console would you still be satisfied with your purchase if the system was replaced in 2010 or would you want it to last longer?

killadread

I would still be ok with it. Why is the 360 going to 720 in 2010? I played my Xbox 1 for over a year after the 360 came out so I'm sure I will do the same with this one.

About your sig... If no one ever buys at new price, there will never be used games....

On topic: Learn how to know what you like.

Cute_Red_Panda

Even if every person who has ever posted on this board stopped buying new games there would still be plenty on eBay. But it would still send a clear message to the game makers over their high prices.

Plus buying a used game is a form of recycling and is good for the environment!

So I'm going to be getting a console this weekend and am trying to decide which to get. I'm not that much of a traditional console gamer in that I have almost no interest in first person shooters on them. I am interested in primarily sports and racing games. I had an Xbox for years and my 3 favorite games were Forza, Top Spin, and RalliSport Challenge 2.

I'm also a big baseball fan so MLB 08 The Show is making me lean towards the PS3. But Forza 2 and PGR3 are making me lean towards the 360. How soon will GT5 be out? Is there a RalliSport Challenge 3 yet and will it be on both or just 360?

Thanks
