[QUOTE="bastards12345"]There is no "faith" involved with science. And I do not accept spiritual religions because they are destructive to society.TheOT_KingSays the guy with Hitler in his avatar. Funny that when you throw a single word (or image) into something, people will immediately switch to an emotion without any consideration.

People who live in poor countries, faith maybe all they have who to say they have nothingFlow4UAgain, only if they are weak-willed. Religion thrives in areas in which material gains are uncommon, obviously, but atheists prove that you do not need a god in order to enjoy what you have. In fact, the lack thereof makes life much more precious. I don't live in such a community, but it's better to recognize the problem, evaluate a solution, and work towards that solution than it is to pray for it.

That is bullcrap.
There is a ****load of faith involved with science. Galileo proved that.
He speaks of a blind, unquestioning "faith", I think. They point of science is to use reason to make a theory and get to a consclusion. But having a certain level of confidence in logic (one's own or others), is basicaly having faith. but of a different kind.
Bingo. don't forget the difference between blind faith and faith though... "Faith: Not wanting to know what is true." - Friedrich Nietzsche You're using an opinion to back up another opinion. Saying that science is reason and not faith is a fact. Saying that faith expresses a mindset of not wanting to hear truth is true with the religious leaders who condemn the truth.
faith is sometime necessary because it gives some people hope that may not be thereFlow4UOnly if that person is weak-willed.
