Awards, awards

I always find it funny when I hear people say, 'awards season is upon us'. In the TV industry that 'awards season' seems to be year-round. We've barely begun the year and already have two big awards shows airing on the tube as well as the most important awards...drum roll please...the first annual TV.com Viewer's Choice awards! Yep, the cutoff for voting will be tomorrow January 11 and the winners will be posted January 23 - stay tuned! Now back to those other two award shows - you may have heard of them - The People's Choice Awards and the Golden Globes. First up is the People's Choice, airing tonight at 9PM eastern on CBS. Can't remember who is nominated? Check out the write-up we did way back in November when the nominees were announced, here. We'll see tonight who goes home with an award. The other awards show coming up is the Golden Globes - that's about a week away on January 16 at 8PM eastern on NBC. You can rehash the nominees with our article here. Yes, the year is beginning with a running start for TV Land!

Best of 2005

Hey guys, We just published our first annual Best of feature. You can check it out here. See if your favorites made the list... We even give you a chance to vote for your favorites in the Viewer's Choice section, here. Tell us what shows, DVD releases and celebrities you love! It was fun creating this feature, but what we're really looking forward to is finding out who you truly love - so vote people!

It's that time again...

January is almost upon us, and with that the midseason replacements. New shows will begin, and old favorites that networks have kept hidden will be shown the light of day. I, for one, can't wait until Scrubs begins. Four Kings looks like it could possibly be an entertaining comedy - with a few exceptions, comedies are hurting right now... We have a whole feature on the midseason replacements, we tried to be comprehensive with our coverage of the major networks but we can't mention every show or else the article would be novel-length. :) You can check it out here: http://www.tv.com/story/story.html&story_id=2676

Hello and exclusive clips

Hi there everyone! Just wanted to point out that we have exclusive clips from the bonus features of the newly released 24 season four DVD. Hooray! It's a great show although I admit I haven't been watching it religously the past season or two. Time to catch up on Jack and the rest of the gang by watching the DVDs! Anyway, you can check out the feature here: http://www.tv.com/feature/24/ Yesterday we had a full stream of the first episode of season two of The Office - "The Dundies". It's the first time we've offered a stream of an entire episode. Pretty exciting stuff. I had already seen that episode when it aired on TV, but even watching it again it proved to have not lost its humor - still hilarious. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Project Runway have both just had their season premieres. I just have one thing to say to that - yippee! The holidays are coming at us fast and furious, so if you need some ideas as to what to get the people in your life, you'll want to check out our Holiday Gift Guide, here: http://www.tv.com/feature/2005giftguide We went through the releases of the year and picked out the cream of the crop for ya. I am a total sucker for the holidays, I'll admit it. I never get tired of holiday specials like Rudolph and Frosty. Our Holiday Specials feature outlines a mighty big list of specials on TV this year, so you won't miss a single one: http://www.tv.com/feature/holiday-specials/ Happy holidays guys!

My first post

Hello out there. I didn't mean for my post to be such a long time coming...I mean we launched earlier this month, but as you can probably imagine it's been a quite hectic few weeks (and months preceding the launch). Anyway, I thought I'd just sit down and get it started. Tuesday nights are my current favorite night of the week, so that's why I can't believe that I forgot to watch last night! I missed a new episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Blow Out - the shame... Fortunately, the BRAVO network replays shows a million times so I'm sure I'll catch these episodes again at some point. I'm looking forward to buying all the Queer Eye DVDs that are out so far. The release dates for these DVDs are so all over the place - their official site had them all out as of June 21 but then changed it to July 5th, the nerve of them!
