I don't know about you, but I'm fed up with the negative PS3 news everything. There is very little postive about this console anymore. Take a look at recent downers:
Lair - sucks
Heavenly Sword - a rental game
Warner Bros may go exclusive HD DVD
Paramount goes exclusive HD-DVD
PS3 loses Ninja Gaiden 2
UT3 is delayed
Xbox 360 gets plenty of games before us - Medal of Honor, Strangehold, Stuntman, why????
Looks like the only bright hopes the rest of the year rest on Folklore, Drake and Haze. I wouldn't be surprised to see all three games get delayed orcanceled. WE get more delays than releases!!!
Hey guys,
I doubt anyone can help me, but worth a shot. I've tried all night, and my new Ps3 will not connect to my internet. I am using high speed cable internet, no router so I bought a 25 ft eternet cable and plugged it from my cable modem to my Ps3. Completely dead connection even though the modem shows online. I tried Ps3's eternet cable and same result. I went to network settings, and it shows my MAC address, but maybe it picked this up from the first time I linked to the net. I don't know what else to try here.
I bought into the hype surrounding this expansion and grabbed Beyond the Sword. Wow, what a letdown. After you take away the mods and scenarios, you are essential left with some barebone new features. The spy feature is useless. It forces you to use another slide bar to take away money, and fails most of the time. Great job guys. You may spies just as frustrating as you did in Civ2.
The game does support new civs, but honestly, what does this really had to the experience? All civs act the same in my experience. If they want one of your techs, they will almost always fork over all their money in a trade. The diplomacy always feels scripted to me. Can't they make it more realistic? Why not have actual voices? I loved the multimedia advisors in Civ2. Why can't we get back to that?
Another supposely cool new feature is world events that affect your game. NOT. THese events are just text burbs like "a forrest fire broke out and destroyed your crops". Ok thanks.
The worst part about the expansion is the game is now a resource hog. I am into 1800s now, and the game is stuttering and no longer scrolling smoothly. Since most of the mods and scenarios can be found for free on the internet, I feel ripped off on this expansion.
Hey guys,
I hooked up the Ps3 today, and tried it out on the internet for the first time. Everything worked great except one big problem. The internet browser launches the Playstation page, and there is a link for demos and videos. I move the pointer over one of the videos and press X but nothing happens. Same thing with all the links. I can't get the pointer to change to a hand.
Am I missing something here? I tried out Youtube, and it let me play videos just fine. I downloaded all the system updates as well.
Hey guys,
I finally stopped sitting on the fence and bought a PS3 since I technically got it for $300 bucks. My local Hastings is running a deal where you get $100 dollar gift card with a PS3. I plan on selling the 5 free Bluray disks so it's like a $300 dollar PS3.
Several things sold me on the PS3 over getting a Xbox. I was a previous Xbox owner skipping Ps2. I loved the Xbox games, but I was really annoyed by the way they just pulled the plug completely on the console after just a few years. I know that Sony has the rep of milking a console for every drop of gaming goodness.
The Xbox has some great gamescoming out this year, but so does the Ps3.Previously, I thought we only had Lair and Heavenly Sword as the only exclusives for the entire year, but when I found out about Drake and Haze, the Ps3 has just as many exclusives as Xbox. With the story ofXboxhardware problems, I am done with the box. Most of their exclusives will eventually find itsway on the PC. People seem to forget that when the Xbox firstcameout, the game library was horrible.Remember Bruce Lee? lol Kabuki Warriors? lol
