Well if this: http://www.gametrailers.com/viewnews.php?id=5471 is still -obscure- and -unreliable- for you (GameTrailers is actually probably the best game review sites, at least imo), than you're in serious denial.

This confirms 2 things related to other 2 Threads that were on this forum:

1) PS3 IS absolutely and undeniably TECHNOLOGICALLY superior than 360

2) Crysis IS going CONSOLE (ps3 only though)

:D:D:D

MortalDecay

Need I remind you cows that last gen you guys have said numerous times that graphics do not matter, sales do. The original Xbox mopped the floor with the PS2 graphics wise, but the PS2 came out on top sales wise.

Why are you cows being hypocrites now? It still hasn't been shown that the PS3 is technically superior to the 360, but the 360 is definately killing the PS3 in sales. Yet, you guys are all of a sudden all about graphics....

That post is so stuppid and so missing the point of my post and most importantly missing the POINT OF THE WHOLE THREAD!

read the THREAD TITLE DUMBASS!

if you ain't got no take on the title than leave or get reported! troll

O really? Can you show me a link or something that can prove that they have programmers for the wii and ALL platforms?

-stupid!-

And just so i make sure it does not go by ignored, cos already stupid people are ignoring it by giving me really non-sense idiotic respinses:

Ok, this is what can be found on crytek's official site, under JOBS:

Console Programmer - PS3

Requirements:

  • Shipped at least 1 title for Nintendo GameCube, PS2 or XBOX or simultaneously
  • 5 or more years C++ object oriented experience
  • Strong 3D math and graphics background
  • Ability and desire to innovate, contribute and polish all aspects of a game
  • Experience with next generation cross-platform development
  • Experience working with all major aspects of a game engine
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for making video games

Pluses:

  • Gdb debugging knowledge
  • Experience with low-level programming
  • Experience with multi-threaded engine design, system design
  • Power PC assembler experience
  • Linux toolchain experience

Responsibility:

  • Development of a Next-Generation GameFramework based on CryEngine 2.0
  • Work on various aspects of porting to engine code to PS3 and creating solutions to get the utmost out of the PS3
  • Cross platform code development
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard

Basically, they are HIRING (if they didn't already hire) a PS3 programer. There is no request of hiring a 360 programmer, nor wii or anyghing else (i know by saying wii i sound stupid but whatever, just to make sure).

If you take a look at the red paragraphs, you'll se the following:

Cross platform development (nex gen) - Basically moving a game from one platform to another

Nest Gen gameframework based on CryEngine 2.0 - The only game from crytek using that engine is Crysis

aspects of porting to engine code TO ps3 bla bla...get the utmost out of PS3 - a game they want to PORT to PS3, and get the most out of PS3 cos that specific game NEEDS IT

Now, Crytek only made 2 games till now: FarCry and Crysis. Obviously, all these requirements, in crytek's requests, point out to Crysis (cryengine 2.0 etc), and together with the fapt that they need someone that can PORT (in the list, in red and in bold), it's obviously not a NEW game they develop, but one that they already have for a different platform (PC), and of course to the PS3, cos that's what they're looking for, a ps3 programmer.

Here's the link: http://www.crytek.com/jobs/frankfurt/ps3-programmer/

Now, 360 fanboys, console haters, and super skeptical people in general, what's your TAKE on that?

tramp

My take on it is that they are still tweaking the engine to work on the PS3. If you followed the development of Cry engine 2 you would know that the engine was always planned to be cross platform. Here is a quote taken from their site (remember this information was on their website at the same time when they clearly said neither console can handle Crysis);

"Next Generation Real-Time Renderer

Our renderer provides seamless support for both indoor and outdoor environments on DirectX9 and 10, as well as support for next generation consoles such as the Xbox360 and PS3 (under development). "

Fanboy "ZOMG Crysis is also coming to the 360!!!"

Cross platform support of the engine has been known for the longest time, in my mind Crytek are simply doing what ID, Valve and Epic do and is licensing the engine for other developers to use for their own creations.

You're only reffering to the cross platforming part, and you pay no attention to the center of the whole idea, to help you, it;s that place where "PORT" is written clearly.

I wonder why...

Ok dudes :)) whatever, bottom line is GameTrailers won't ever pick up some info (even if from some other site) if it hasn't got some other info 2 spport it.

You mittn dogs can bark all you want at us "COWS", we'll just moo back at you when we'll get our copy of Crysis , most probably this year.

Hate on PS3 how much you want. There's still "no rumour" for crysis going to 360, only a "rumour" saying it's quite not possible due to it's technology

Again, saying that GameTrailers is unreliable, and that they lie, and you know more, makes whoever makes these claims look both stupid and unreasonable.

You're NOT better than a site as GameTrailers and obviously haven't got more Sources of information that such a site

And of course, you're a 360 fanboy or general console hater and you can't face the facts.
