Here's the ps3 GPU:

256 mb

  • 500 MHz G71 based GPU on 90 nm process [1][2]
    • 300+ million transistors (600 million with Cell CPU) [3]
    • Multi-way programmable parallel floating-pointshaderpipelines[4]
      • Independent pixel/vertex shader architecture

    • 24 texture filtering units (TF) and 8 vertex texture addressing units (TA)
      • 24 filtered samples per clock
        • Maximum texel fillrate: 13.2 GigaTexels per second (24 textures * 550 MHz)
      • 32 unfiltered texture samples per clock, ( 8 TA x 4 texture samples )
    • 8 Render Output units
      • Peak pixel fillrate (theoretical): 4.4 Gigapixel per second
      • Maximum Z sample rate: 8.8 GigaSamples per second (2 Z-samples * 8 ROPs * 550 MHz)
      • Maximum anti-aliasing sample rate: 8.8 GigaSamples per second (2 AA samples * 8 ROPs * 550 MHz)
    • Maximum Dot product operations: 51 billion per second [7]
    • 128-bit pixel precision offers rendering of scenes with high dynamic range rendering (HDR)
    • 256 MiB GDDR3 RAM at 700 MHz[8][9]

i've already said that we'll lower the graphics options to medium-high, which still looks great (like uncharted, though uncharted can actually be comparted to crysis on high), as well, ps3 can run games shuch as the darkness, COD4, and upcoming Gran Turismo 5 (just look at the graphics in screenshots) on 1080p

And moreover, ps3 has less ram becaouse it does not have so many processes and such a big os like windows, so that's why crysis on ps3 will need lesser ram. It does not have a windows os in the background eating some ram. ;)

Ok, we'll put it like this then: Ps3 has a faster ram and better processor then 360. So we'll take ps3, we see uncharted that has graphics comparable to crysis, so lets say they put crysis (for ps3) on medium-high settings (just a bit lower than max), they split the huge map in stages (load screens from place to place), and thus, the memory tracks what's going on only in the specific area of the map that you currently are in, not the ones where you're going to get to by a load screen...and that's it.

Even now you want to say it's absolutely impossible to make crysis work on the ps3?

For the guy that says that crysis on medium "poops" ( :)) ) on uncharted, have you ever SEEN let alone PLAYED uncharted on a FULL HD 1080p lcd screen/tv?

I think this thread is going in a different direction. It was supposed to be about WHY CRYSIS WILL OR WILL NOT GO ON CONSOLES!!! STICK TO THE TOPIC!!

and just as a simple mention:

If it would be made to use more than 2 cpus (in case it does not already support quad core), it'd deffinetly work better on a console that has 8 (well actually 7 working) cpus -PS3-, than on one that has 3 cpus (360), and as well, it'll work better on a console that has XDR ram (3,2ghz) -ps3- as opposed to 700 or 800mhz ram (360)

I didn't notice hate against this game at all. It's a ps3 exclusive right? So the only logical direction from which all this hate can come from is from the xbox 360 fanboys or something like that. Don't forget that almost every ps3 exclusive that came out, even TIMED EXCLUSIVE that are also PROBABLY (it is not yet 100% sure, though gamespot surprisingly gave a realease date, based on i don't know what) going to the 360 such as the ut3 are "hated", by that i mean that a lot of 360 fans say it's crap compared to gears of war etc, when in an interview with the head of epic games (i don't know his name or the site where i saw it, just google "ut3 has better graphics than gears of war" or smth like that) said that ut3 looks far better on the ps3 than gears of war on 360 (actually here's the link http://www.destructoid.com/ut3-looks-better-than-gears-with-extra-bonus-ps3-love--53315.phtml ). And i dont' care much about gamespots' ratings if you'll point that out, if you want a fair rating from a site which is neutral (unlike gamespot) go to gametrailers.com or ign.com. Gamespot gave Uncharted for instance, which is an extremly well made game, a plain 8...8!? the game is at least a 9.2-9.3.

And yes, i own uncharted and ut3 and they look great.

So hopefully, Haze will be a great game and looking at it's concept and everything, it's as well a SF shooter, so it could actually be a halo killer, but we'll just have to wait for that.

Don't forget that HALO 3 in my oppinion is VERY overrated (i've only played halo 2, i must admit), cos basically most of the times when 360 owners talk about their great games and which games are superior to the ps3 games, all they MOSTLY say is halo 3, halo three, and halo trois.

So there's no reason to be skeptical and stop hating haze from now, especially from ps3 owners, unless it'll come out. And if, when it'll come out, it'll be a total crap, than even myself, although i didn't play it, will agrree that halo 3 is better.

That is because i'm getting a Phillips full hd lcd 2morrow, and also a logitech z5500, whoich has an optical cable. I just wanna be sure that there is a difference in quality if i connect the audio system directly to the ps3. So if there's someone out there that has that, i'd like to hear their opinion. 10x

Well what i can tell you is this: freeing up the optical slot in the ps3, in case you want to do that for performance issues or cos you think it uses 2 many resources, well, it deffinetly isn't. I've heard over and over again that the optical is in many ways far better than a normal connection (by this i mean it's better to connect your audio system directly to the ps3 if it has a optical cable, rather than first into the tv, and then through hdmi to the ps3), but i just want to be sure about it.

What's better? Connecting my ps3 (via hdmi) to my tv which is already hooked up to a home theater (5.1) system, or connecting my ps3 to the tv (hdmi as well) without audio, and connecting an audio system (such as logitech z5500 thx) to the ps3 via optic cable? I really need to know cos i wanna know what to get. 10x.
