@Uesugi-dono how do you know current sony tvs will last longer? Got a magic ball or something? Anyways my philips 80s tv still going strong also :P. Simpler technology usually last longer
well my original fat ps3 failed on me also ( broken disc reader). Luckily i bought insurance on it and it actually gave me $400 (original price) with which i could buy a slim for $300 :p
checked those numbers in a glance, seems xbox360 beats ps3 with 5 million over 67 vs 63 million. Not alot considering the xbox360 came out a year before ps3. Year by year sales the ps3 might even top the 360 lol. But what do i care, lol
meh sony used to be admired before with their high quality products, although they had a tendency to want to monopolyze the market with THEIR technology. Sometimes it payed off, sometimes it didn't.
Also they practically owned the gaming industry during the ps2 era. Guess they were sitting on their asses enjoying the profits while the rest off the industry played catch up. And now they need to play catch up in order to justify the premium prices they charge for their products (TVs anyone?).
Good luck to Sony as i enjoy my ps3 alot and sure would like to see a ps4. But i think we will see one, since as this article states they will focus alot on gaming
