Ugh people still think this is the norm? It's hard to let someone down who you don't find attractive so they try to think of something pc to say- like "you're a nice guy but..." Would you rather have a woman try to let you down gently or just come right out with it and say "I don't find your looks or personality attractive, don't bother"? Chances are if she did option 2 you'd think she was awful.

She would need to turn off the editor or use a certain code.
