Deus Ex still holds up really well, I played that one again maybe a year ago. Plus if you feel like it, you can get texture packs and the like to make it look way better.
I've really enjoyed my G500 as well. I was having some issues with it after about a year and a half of use, as in, it would sometimes lose signal. Logitech sent over an advanced replacement within a few days, gaming's been great again with it!
There's some definite overkill suggestions from a bunch of the above posts, 1440 x 900 isn't that high of a res. You'll be fine with a 460 or a 6850 or higher.
I stick with Amazon or digital downloads now. If I ever saw a GREAT deal at Best Buy/Gamestop and I happened to be around one, sure, I'd grab it. But that rarely happens. Just too convenient to have it delivered.
The industry is huge right now with all sorts of different genres/games being released all the time. Unless you're addicted to playing every single FPS of all time I don't see what the problem is. Play some other games. Play some of the thousands of older games that you might have missed.
